The Orioles scored 3 runs in the top of the first on a bases loaded 2 out triple by Chris Arenda to take the early lead. Geoff Sylvester settled down after that to hold them to hold them from scoring any more runs. The Rockies fought back to score 2 runs in the 3rd. Leland Boutilier's 2 out single with the bases loaded scored 2 more runs in the 4th to give the Rockies their first lead of the night. That was all that was needed to pull out the exciting victory.

Cole Barton (7IP, 2H, 1ER, 5K)took a no-hitter into the 7th inning against the Giants on a beautiful Sunday afternoon at East Boston Stadium. Calamito and Hague hit back-to-back singles for the Giants to spoil Barton's no-hit bid in the top of the 7th. Steve Corda took the loss for the Giants.

Jay Thomas (3-3, 3RBI, 1SB), Shaun Stack (2-3 1R, 1SB), and Dan Gomes (1-3, 2R, 2SB) led the Oriole offense, while Larry Charbonneau and Thomas led the way on defense.

Barton flirts with no-no. Thomas and Stack come through at the plate.

Glenn Perham and Chris Demers battled it at McConell field. Both pitches threw the complete eight innings until the lights went out.
The Reds struck first in the third with a Joe Dunne walk. Matt Bloomer hit a bunt single, and Chris Chase walked to load the bases. Bryan Straccia then hit a sac fly to bring Dunne home. The Orioles tied it in the sixth with a lead off hit from Eric Oxley and an infield hit from Chris Roupa, with an erant throw which got by the third baseman.
The Reds took the lead back in the seventh with a bunt single from Derek Garabedian. He reached second on a wild pitch. Matt Bloomer than hit him home with an RBI single.
The O's tied the game in the seventh with a two out walk drawn by Demers, reaching second on a wild pitch. Al Cacciatore drove him in with a single to right field.
After a scoreless eighth, the lights went out in the top of the ninth with no runs scored, forcing the tie game.

Perham and Demers pitch a great game at McConnell.

In the second game of the doubleheader, the Indians rolled to a 8-0 win over the Orioles.

Daryl Pina was in control on the mound, allowing just five hits and striking out seven to pick up the complete game shutout victory.

At the plate, Marco Abreu, Nick Bondola and Mark Bowles all had 2 hits and 2 stolen bases. The trio also combined for 7 of the Indians' 8 runs. Kevin Faria went 2-3 with a double, a triple and a run scored. Brian Greene also had three hits.

For the O's, Cacciatore went 2-2 with a walk. Oxley went 1-3 with a long triple.

In the first game of a doubleheader, the Indians defeated the Orioles in extra innnings, 6-5.

After falling behind 5-0 after two, the Tribe battled back with a five-run fifth. The game remained locked at 5-5 until Lee Hughes knocked in the winning run in the bottom of the eighth. Hughes finished the day with a double, a run and an RBI. Mark Bowles went 2-4 with a double and a run.

Josh Hale pitched six shutout innings in relief to pick up the win. Hale struck out five and gave up three hits.

For the O's, Barton pitched eight strong innings but took the tough loss. Barton struck out eight with just one walk. Jason Bressner had two hits.

Chris Demers fired a one hit shutout at the Mariners Friday night in the shadows at Ryan Field.

Demers carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning before a one out double to right-center by Jaime Aldoupolis spoiled the masterpiece. Tom Deveau absorbed the loss for the Mariners.

The Orioles offense was led by Al Cacciatore (2-4, 1R, 2RBI), Jason Bressner (1-3, 2B, 1R, 2RBI) and Shaun Stack (2-3, 1R, 1BB, 1SB).

Demers fires a one-hit shutout. Cacciatore and Bressner drive in two apiece.

The Orioles outlasted the Astros at beautiful West Roxbury High School.

Cole Barton pitched 5 innings to pick up the win for the O's. Chris Arenda worked the last two frames for the save. Mike Vernon picked up the loss for the Astros.

The Orioles offense was led by Shaun Stack (1-3, 2B, 1R, SB), Dan Gomes (0-0, 2BB, 2R, SB, SF), Al Cacciatore (1-3, 2B, RBI) and Larry Charbonneau (1-2, 2B, 1R, 2RBI).

The Astros' stars were Chris Ioakimidis (2-2, 1R, 2RBI, 2BB, SB) and Tyler Walsh (5IP, 4H, 2ER, 2BB, 2K and an RBI single at the plate)

Gomes and Charbonneau help spark the O's offense. Ioakimidis perfect at the plate.

The Orioles edged the Dodgers in a battle of starting pitchers.

Chris Demers (7IP, 7H, 2ER, 1BB, 7K) went the distance to improve to 5-1. Garrett Fisher (7IP, 5H, 2ER, 2BB, 4K) took the tough loss.

The Orioles started it off with and RBI single by Demers (1-3, 2RBI) in the top of the first. The Dodgers tied it up in the bottom of the third with an RBI single by Adam Gabriel.

The Orioles plated a run in the top of the 5th when Chris Arenda led off the inning with a single, stole second and eventually scored on a balk.

The Orioles extended their lead in the top of the 6th when Demers drove in Dan Gomes with an RBI ground out.

The Dodgers threatened in the bottom of the 6th when Sandy Gonzalez's triple was followed by a single by Kevin Beliveau (2-3, 1RBI). But Demers worked his way out of it to preserve the victory.

Demers does it again on the hill and with the stick. Fisher pitches 7 solid innings.

The Orioles downed the Marlins in a pitcher's duel at East Boston Stadium. Chris Demers and Hiro Nakamura were the stars of the game on the mound and at the plate.

The Orioles struck first on consecutive singles by Shaun Stack, Dan Gomes and Demers (2 for 3), and a Marlins' error for two runs in the bottom of the first. That was all the runs that Nakamura (6IP, 5H, 1ER, 2BB, 8K) would allow.

Demers (7IP, 1H, 0ER, 0BB, 10K) cruised through the first six innings. After retiring the first two batters in the top of the seventh, back-to-back Orioles' errors put two runners aboard. Nakamura rapped an RBI single to right to put the Marlins on the board before Demers struck out the final batter of the game to seal the win.

Demers and Nakamura: Stars on the mound and at the plate.

The Marlins climbed back to five-hundred with a win last night against the Orioles by scoring a season high 18 runs on 13 hits. 11 different Marlins reached base safely during the course of the game.

Joe Montoya was 3 for 4 with 3 runs scored and reached base safely in all 5 of his plate appearances. Adam Etherington was 2 for 4 with two doubles, 3 runs scored, and chipped in with an RBI. Andy Katz also had 2 hits.

Neil Doherty again put on a solid performance on the mound while pitching 6 innings and scattering 8 hits on 3K's and 1 BB. Brian Mahoney made his pitching debut to record a 1-2-3 seventh inning.

For the Orioles, Jay Thomas was 3 for 3 with 1 RBI.

The O's struck first blood in the 1st after a walk to Davis who scored after reaching 2nd on a wild pitch and then stealing 3rd. Cacciatore drove him in with a sacrifice fly to left.

In the 4th the D'Backs got 3 runs with Bill Schellbach leading the inning off with a single. Nick Reiser drove him in with 2 outs. Chris Buckley then drove in Reiser and Leigh Zancewicz who also singled.

The O's scored another run in the 5th after Arenda singled and Davis drove him home with a sacrifice fly to center.

Kevin McGovern pitched a solid 6 innings getting the win for the D'Backs and Aaron Bend capped the game off with a 1, 2, 3 7th inning for the save.

Frank Kowalski (2-3, triple 3 RBI) and Jeff McHugh (1-3 3 RBI) knocked in 3 runs a piece to pace the Yanks to a 9-4 win. Jami James (3-4), Jamie Matthews (2-3) and AJ Bucciarelli (2-4, double) also had multi-hit games.

On the mound, the Reggio brothers pitched a complete game. Paul Reggio earned his 4th win allowing no earned runs over 5 innings on 3 hits while striking out a career high 10 batters. Brother Kevin Reggio finished off the final two innings allowing 2 earned runs.

For the Orioles, Chris Demers took the loss. Chris Roupa had two hits.

The Mets won their 5th straight and pulled within 1 game of the Giants as Tim Fortune tossed a 5-hit shutout in a 4-0 win over the Orioles. Chris Arenda matched Fortune inning for inning until the Mets broke through with 4 runs in the 6th. Fortune walked none and struck out 7.

Brian Rochette hit an RBI single to give the Mets a 1-0 lead in the 6th, and Dave McManus cracked a bases-loaded single that drove in 2 runs, with a 3rd run scoring on an error, to account for the final margin.

Over the course of the 5-game winning streak, Mets' pitchers are 5-0 with a 0.20 ERA and 3 shutouts, allowing just 3 runs (1 earned) and 22 hits in 35 innings with 45 strikeouts. Mets' starters have completed eight straight starts (excluding the game in Montreal in which everyone pitched).

The Orioles take on the Yankees tomorrow, while the Mets have a 12-day layoff before renewing their ancient rivalry with the Cardinals.

The Orioles picked up their 4th win in their last 6 games while also snapping a 7-game White Sox win-streak.

For the Orioles, Chris Demers (3-0) was the standout. Not only did he toss a complete game 4-hitter with 6 K's for the win. But he also drove in 2 Orioles runs. These came via a 3rd inning 1-RBI single that drove in Shaun Stack (who singled), and a 5th inning RBI double that drove in Jason Bressner (who singled). Dan Gomes also contributed an RBI single.

The only White Sox run came in the 6th inning when Al Wiesner tripled and then was driven in by a Joe Lombardi single. John Howe (2-1) took the loss for the Sox, allowing only 1 run in 4 innings.

The Giants improved to 7-2 on the year after a victory in a tight game with O's. Giant's starter Jason Grenier picked up his first victory on the year, surrendering 2 runs on 5 hits, over 5 innings. Jeff Decoteau notched his first save on the year.
The offense for the Giants was led by Steve Coyle, who drove in 2 runs and scored 2 runs, and Jeff Decoteau, who delivered a RBI double in the 5th inning.
The Orioles' offense was carried by 3rd baseman Al Cacciatore who had an RBI single and a triple. O's starter Cole Barton battled the league's number one offense through six, but picked up the loss, and fell to 1-1 on the year.

Coyle and Grenier led the Giants, and Cacciatore provided the spark for the Orioles

Chris Demers (7IP, 5H, 2ER, 3BB, 8K) went the distance to defeat the Rockies on a drizzly Saturday afternoon at Cleveland Circle.

The Rockies struck first when a single by Gary Moran plated Rick Corson (2-3, 2B).

The Orioles tied it up in the second and took a one run lead in the third with an RBI double by Chris Roupa.

The Rockies threatened in the fourth. But with one out, Chris Arenda threw out Sean Kennedy at the plate attempting to score on a fly ball to left.

The Rockies eventually fought back to retake the lead with a clutch two run single by Leland Boutilier.

The Orioles scored two in the bottom of the sixth, highlighted by Erik Oxley's leadoff double, an RBI single by Mike Davis (1-3, 1R, 1RBI, 2SB) and what proved to be a game winning squeeze by Dan Gomes.

Rockies' starter Tim Bonehill (4IP, 2H, 1ER, 6BB, 8K) pitched well, but settled for the no-decision.

Bill Beauchesne (3-0, 0.74) carried a no-hitter into the 7th before a clean single to center by Chris Demers spoiled the bid. Beauchesne walked 1 and struck out 6 in the complete-game win. Beauchesne induced 14 ground-ball outs and was aided by strong infield defense, including a spectacular play by SS Dave McManus on a deflection off the glove of 3B Jason Joyce. McManus added a 2-run single and scored a run.

Kit Kadlec reached base 4 times with 2 hits and 2 walks. Jason Joyce drilled an RBI triple in the 2nd and scored 2 runs. Al Becker also scored twice.

For the Orioles, Chris Arenda was terrific in relief, allowing 3 hits and 0 earned runs with 8 strikeouts in 4 innings. The Orioles' run scored on a reverse-force double play on the game's final play.

Billy Bo tosses a 2-hitter; Jay Joyce rips a 3-bagger; Arenda hurls 4 strong out of the 'pen.

Cole Barton (7IP, 4HA, 1ER, 1BB, 7K) outdueled Josh Conklin (7IP, 7HA, 3ER, 0BB, 4K) on the hill at East Boston Stadium.

The Orioles took the lead on an RBI double by Al Cacciatore in the first. Chris Demers' (3 for 3, 1R, 1RBI, 2SB) RBI single gave the O's a two run lead in the fourth inning.

Mike Monteforte (2 for 3, 2RBI) ripped a clutch single in the bottom of the sixth to tie things up.

That set the table for the top of the seventh. A leadoff single by Chris Demers and a HBP to Mike Orlosky put runners on first and second. A well timed double steal set the table for what would prove to be Joe Knaus' game winning sacrifice fly.

Cole Barton pitched a perfect seventh inning to seal the victory.

Barton picks up CG win, Knaus delivers GWRBI; Conklin pitches well in defeat.

The Orioles jumped out early and held on to defeat the Astros in a wild game at Ryan Field featuring pickoffs, double plays and a dozen errors between the two teams.

Dan Gomes (2 hits, 2 runs, 1 SB), Jay Thomas (1 for 2, 2B, 2 runs, 2 BB)and Chris Roupa (1 for 2, 1 run, 1 RBI, 2 BB) led the Oriole offense. Chris Demers went the distance to pick up his first MABL victory, giving up 3 ER and striking out 7.

Daniel Schumaker (2 hits, 1 RBI) and Tony Ricupero (1 hit, 2 runs, HBP) paced the Astro attack.

Off of only 2 hits, the Royals took advantage of errors and some wild pitching to score 6 runs en route to their first win of the season. The hit of the game came from Brendan Ryan who hit a bases loaded double as the Royals were on their way to a 5 run 2nd inning. Mike Paulson tacked on the Royals' other hit, which later led to an insurance run in the 6th.

Ariel Martinez pitched 4 strong innings to get the win giving up 1 earned run and striking out 4. Jason Kurtz closed it out for the save and also recorded 4 Ks in the effort.

For the Orioles, Shaun Stack had a multi-hit game and Dan Gomes hit a deep RBI triple in the 7th. Demers pitched 4 strong innings of relief (4IP, 1H, 6K, 1R)

Rookie Jeremy Creveling's 2 run single in the top of the 6th broke the 6-6 tie and led the Braves to a 9-6 win on their opening day at Fallon Field. Creveling finished the day 2-3 with 3 RBI's. Chris Allen fought off a rough 4th inning, where he allowed 5 of the Oriole 9 hits, to go the distance. Shaun Stack, Jay Thomas, and Al Cacciatore each had 2 hits in defeat for the Orioles.

Allen pitched 7 gutsy innings in the win for the Braves.
