For the fifth consecutive year, the Spinners have reached the league finals. They beat the A's 7-2 and swept the series three games to none. Pat Donahoe came on in relief for a struggling Nick Bonofiglio and held Waltham to just two hits over 3.2 innings.

Down 1-0 in the first, Cambridge rallied for three runs. Nick Sieber and Colin Sullivan hit back-to-back doubles and drove in runs. Sullivan finished the night with three RBIs. Mike Navarro drove in a run later in the inning.

The Spinners defense got out of a jam in the third inning, keeping the A's off the board with runners on second and third and a bases loaded jam in the fourth.

Brett O'Keefe walked and scored in the first and Nick Barton reached on an error in the second and scored on a Rob Muollo double.

The Spinners now await the winner of the Sox-Grays series for the finals.

The Spinners take a 2-0 lead in their semifinal series with a 6-3 win. Down 3-2 in the fourth, Ricky Salvia and Matt Gioia reached base and Mark Killoren's two-run single gave Cambridge the lead. Alex Benson drove in Sullivan on a sac fly later in the inning. Mike Tufo singled and scored on a Colin Sullivan RBI single.

Chris Muse-Fisher earned the win, pitching isx innings and striking out six. Ryan Feeney came on in relief in the seventh for the save.

All three Waltham runs came in the first, with consecutive hits and runs scored from Jason Tessari, Nick Tapper and Tom McIntyre. Brett O'Keefe pitched a complete game with seven strikeouts.

In a see-saw battle, the Cambridge Spinners took game one of the semi-final series 9-4. Tied 3-3 in the sixth, Mike Navarro recorded his third hit of the game and later scored on a Matt Gioia single. It would be the first of five for the Spinners.

Nick Bonofiglio earned the win in relief, replacing starter Luc Kocher in the fifth. He recorded two strikeouts in his appearance.

Alen Benson and Colin Sullivan had three hits each and Mike Knell drove in three runs.

Nick Tapper scored two runs for the Athletics while Tom McIntyre led the offense with two hits.

As walk off with series win:

The Sox got 2 in the first, on a Radcliffe single and a throwing error.

The As cut the lead in half in the 5th, with Muollo singling in McIntyre.

The Sox racked an insurance run on in the 7th, taking advantage of an As fielding error, plating Lanane, who had reached on a single.

Down 3-1 heading into the bottom of the 7th, OKeefe singled up the middle. Tessari then legged out an infield single. Tapper singled them both in to tie the game. On the next pitch, McIntyre singled in Tapper for the series winning run.

Cole Futterman got the win, and Dave Pirman pitched six strong innings for the As

Brett OKeefe throws a complete game gem, striking out 10 and surrendering only 1 unearned run to put the Athletics up 1-0 in the best of 3 series. OKeefe also drove in the deciding run on a fielders choice in the 5th. The Athletics and Red Sox will do it again at the same place, same time on Friday night for game 2.

The Marlins got off to a quick start, plating 3 in the first, but the A's battled back to tie it with 1 in the 3rd and 2 in the 4th off Marlins starter Chris Ruiz.

After Marlins reliever Ben Lodge got out of a 2nd and 3rd no out jam in the top of the 7th to leave the score tied at 3, Tim Deveaux singles to lead off the bottom of the 7th, manager Jeff Buxton is hit by a pitch, and Scot Leslie singles up the middle for a Marlins walk-off win.

Brett O'Keefe tossed a complete game shutout, fanning 4 and yielding just 4 hits. O'Keefe also helped his own cause with a strong day at the dish (2-3, 2B, 3R).

The A's also received strong offensive performances from Matt Cote (3-4, 2B, 4 RBI); Bo McIntyre (4-4, 2B, RBI); and Alan Donaruma and Matt MacNeil (both 2-4, R).

Pirman spins no-hitter for A's win in pitchers' duel.

Dave Pirman threw a no-hit, complete game shutout. His lone imperfection was a 3rd-inning walk to Anthony Giovenelli, who was stranded on 3rd.

The Marlins' Ben Lodge was equally impressive on the hill, allowing just one hit and striking 12 in the tough loss.

Alan Donaruma (1-1, 2 BB) got the only hit of the game in the 5th. He scored the winning run on a bases-loaded walk later in the inning. The A's plated an insurance run later in the inning when Mahoney scored on passed ball.

Athletics top Cutters.

The Cutters plated the first run of the game in the 2nd. Bourassa doubled home Manley, who had reached on a single.

The A's McIntyre tied it up in the 3rd with a solo home run.

The A's plated 2 more in the 4th. Muollo tripled, and Donaruma drove him in with a single. B. O'Keefe drew a walk and scored on a fielder's choice hit by his brother M. O'Keefe.

B. O'Keefe secured the complete game win, striking out 7 and giving up only 5 hits.

Barton hits a Sac fly in the bottom of the 7th to notch the win for the A’s at Nipper. Colantino threw 6 innings, and Futterman comes in for the 7th with a shutdown inning for the win.

Down by a run with 2 out and no one on in the bottom of the 7th, the Singing Surgeons rallied for a dramatic come from behind win. Patrick Forelli doubled with 2 out in the 7th and then Jackson Forelli doubled to score his brother to tie the game at 1. Michael Bond pinch hit with a single to open the bottom of the 8th. Jesse Alexander pinch ran and scored the winning run on a 2 out line drive single to left by Kenny Manero. Avery Ford was outstanding pitching all 8 innings for the Singing Surgeons for the complete game victory allowing only 2 hits and no earned runs all day.

The Gray's bats stayed hot to help them to an 8-6 victory over the A's in Somerville. Jared Walsh went 3 for 3 from the lead off spot while Tom Plumitallo drove in 4 runs to lead the offense. Joff Smith and Holden French contributed with timely hits driving in 2 each.

Plumitallo got the win although the A's battled all game getting 6 across on the starter. Brian Maloney relieved Plumitallo in the 6th retiring 6 straight batters for the save.

The Grays are back in action Saturday AM against the Cardinals in Quincy.

Avery Ford pitched a complete game for the victory, striking out 7, and slammed an RBI double as the Singing Surgeons win streak is now at 4 in a row. Peter Blunt, Patrick Forelli and Alex Castillo each had a hit and scored a run. Jesse Alexander had a hit, RBI and a SB. Peter Jones had the Game Winning RBI with an important single in the 6th. The A's played well, and fought back in the 7th, but Avery struck out the side in the 7th to complete the win for the Singing Surgeons.

A's comeback in extra innings with walk-off win

In a clean game until the 7th, the A's took a 3-2 lead into the final frame. However, The Grays scored a run in the 7th on a fielders choice error to tie the game at 3 with no one out. Breidenstine was able to induce a DP ground out, and record a strikeout to keep the game tied.

In the 8th, the Grays put up 2 runs thanks to 4 hits and a walk. In the bottom of the inning, though, the A's would take advantage of 2 Gray's errors and walk off on a wild pitch to move to 4-2 on the season.

The Grays and A's are both off for the 4th of July. The Grays play next on July 10, and the A's on July 12.

Spinners no-hit As!

The pitching trio of Nick Bonofiglio, Pat Donahoe and Chris Muse-Fisher kept the A's hitless as Cambridge won their sixth straight 6-2. Bonofiglio struck out six in his third win of the season.

Nick Sieber had two hits and scored twice, while Ricky Salvia Alex Benson scored two runs each.

Waltham scored in the third when Paul Mahoney walked and scored on an error. Dave Pirman walked and later scored on an Alan Donaruma walk.

Longtime Spinners bench coach Nick Scofield made his MABL debut. The 12-year league veteran grounded to third in his lone at-bat in the seventh.

The Spinners made it three straight wins in a dominating performance in Malden Wednesday night with a 12-2 mercy rule shortened victory over the Athletics. Luc Kocher pitched four shutout innings, giving up just one hit while striking out three.

Leading 2-1 in the fifth, the Spinners scored seven runs and three more in the sixth. Ricky Salvia led the offense with three hits and drove in four runs. Mike Knell scored twice and drove in two runs to lead the offense.
