The Royals improved to 12-3 on the season with a 10-2 win over the North Shore Giants yesterday in Saugus. Brian Burke picked up his second win on the season allowing just 2 runs on 7 hits with 8 strikeouts over 7 innings of work. A great team effort on the offensive side where every starter in the lineup either collected at least one hit, an RBI, or scored one run. Offense was led by All Star James O'Neil who belted his second homerun of the season and Bryan Weber who picked up 3 hits and 3 runs scored on the day.

The Giants got down early in game 2 of the doubleheader down 4-1 against the Rockies after 2.

Mark Blake (1-1) got hit around through the first two giving up 4 runs by way of 7 hits and a walk. After hitting the first Rockies’ hitter in the 3rd, Blake found his stuff and not a single Rockie made it to the basepaths as Blake was dominant retiring the final 15 batters in a row en route to a complete game win.

The Giants waited until the 5th inning to tie the game 4-4 and eventually took the lead in the 6th to win it 6-4 and sweep the doubleheader against the Rockies.

Mark Infurna (2-3) threw a complete game yielding only one run and racked up 9Ks to earn up his second win of the year.

Giants put up a 3 spot in the first inning off of 3 hits and was no-hit for the remainder of the game but hung on to take the 1st game of the doubleheader against the Rockies by a score of 3-1.

The Rockies were desperately looking for their first win and a tall task stood in front of them when the defending CABL champion North Shore Giants showed up to Michele Park in Salem NH. The Rockies sent Corey Cochran to the mound and he delivered in a big way with pitching 6 strong innings (1-0)before giving way to Jake Mainey who recorded his first career CABL save (SV 1). The offense was held down until the 6th inning when David Pappalardo and Nate Macleod knocked in the only 2 runs of the day which turned out to be the difference. The Rockies now turn the page to Thursday night when they host the Metro Gators at Methuen High School 8 PM.

Giants got behind early to the tune of 5 runs after 2 innings but came back to score 4 in the 4th and 2 in the 5th to take the 6-5 lead. The Gators then tied it 6-6 in their half of the 5th.

The Giants scored two in the top of 7th off a huge 2-out, 2-run double by Gary Stevens to go up 8-6. The Gators made it interesting in the bottom of the 7th but lefty, John Surette (S, 2) closed the door to preserve the win for the Giants and the split on the doubleheader.

Mark Infurna (S, 2) picked up the rare 3 inning save earning his second save of the day and year.

The doubleheader sweep puts The Giants back over .500 for the year.

Robert Kimber hit his and The Giants' first homerun of the year in a tight 7-6 win over The Yankees.

Mark Infurna (S, 1) was called upon in the bottom of the 7th with the tying and winning runs on 1st and 2nd with no outs and was able to wiggle The Giants out of the jam to win game 1 of the doubleheader.

Cubs kept things rolling picking up their third win of the season beating the Giants 12-2.

Cubs strong pitching continued. Tom McDonald went three innings, striking out 4 while allowing only one hit. Zach Walker got the W going 4 innings, scattering 5 hits and allowing 2 runs (1ER).

Cory Albanese (2-4), Rourke Flynn (2-4,2B) and Kiyo Gomi (2-4) all recorded multi hit games. While Albanese and Brian McCarthy (1-3, 2B) both drove in a pair of runs.

Mark Infurna (1-1) picked up the win striking out 12 and yielded 4 runs (2 earned) through 5 strong innings.

The Yankees entered the 6th inning down 7 and they sure made it interesting scoring 6 runs in their half of the 6th. John Surette (S, 1) was called upon to protect the lead and get the 5-out save for The Giants.

Encouraging to see The Giants' offense come back to life in game 3 of the season scoring 13 runs off of 11 hits. Next up for the Giants is a trip to Weymouth on 4/28 to play the 2-0 Cubs.

After an abysmal 0-29 start of the 2019 campaign at the plate, The Giants squeaked by the Mariners 1-0 after they plated a run in the bottom of the 6th by a timely 2-out single up the middle by Rookie Catcher, Nick Raimo.

Starter, Cam Beaulieu picked up where he left off last year firing 5 scoreless before giving way to John Surette (1-0) who pitched 2 scoreless and earned the win.

After posting the highest run differential during the 2018 championship season, The Giants are off to a slow start but a win is a win and they look to find their groove Thursday night against the Yankees back at Fraser Field.

It was a great start for the Malden Marlins as they beat the defending champs the Northshore Giants 8-0
Taka Watanabe was the star of the game throwing a no hitter with 14 K's.
Ricky Mendez batting in the two hole went 4-5 with 2 doubles a single and a homerun while Captain Manny powers was 1-3 with a Triple to the deepest part of Fraser field.
