Brian Williams (2-3, R, SB) and Scott Weber (2-3, R, 3B, RBI) led the offense and the Royals advance to the South Division semifinals to face off against the winner of the Cubs/Mariners series. |

Facing elimination, the Royals handed the ball to veteran starter Justin Chere who turned in a gem of a performance. Chere picks up the complete game win giving up 1 run (unearned) on 2 hits with no walks and 2 strikeouts. Scott Weber delivered a clutch two out RBI single in the 4th inning. The Royals added one more in the 5th on an RBI fielders choice by Steve Rivela. Game 3 takes place Tuesday in Dedham. |

Great pitching and timely hitting defined the game. Tim Belanger threw a complete game, working out of two big jams in the third and fourth innings. Chris Holland (1-3, 1 RBI) and Dan Belanger (1-4, 2 RBI) both contributed RBI doubles for the offense.
For the Royals, Brian Burke threw a complete game with 12 Ks.
Game 2 is Sunday at 4pm at World Series Park in Saugus. |

John Surette (5-1) dazzles in this one as he threw a no-no against a tough team in the Southeast Senators.
Scattering only 3 walks, Surette controlled the strike zone allowing only 2 balls to leave the infield (2 fly ball outs) while picking up 7 Ks on his way to his 5th win of the year, and lowering his ERA to a miniscule 1.58.
The Giants will now go on to face the Pirates Sunday, August 12th in Dedham with The Giants controlling their own destiny in the last game of the year. A win in Dedham furnishes The Giants with the #1 seed throughout the playoffs. |

2 powerhouse teams went at it Sunday afternoon at the best park to play baseball. Jovan Henriquez pitcher 6 scoreless innings while Manny Powers recorded the save. Runs were hard to come by now in this one the final score was 3-0. Manny Powers started the scoring with a towering solo shot to left in the second inning. It was scoreless all the way up into the bottom of the 6th inning for the fish when Artgesinger contributed with a sac fly and Campbell walked with the bases loaded. Fish are in action against the As Friday night. |

Senators beat the Rockies 1-0 in game that was dominated by pitching. The two pitchers combined to only give up six hits and one walk. The only run of the game scored on a 4-6-3 double play in the fourth inning. Tim Belanger struck out a season high 11 batters to pick up his 3rd win of the season. Anthony Tempesta contributed 2 hits as the lone offensive bright spot in the game. |

The Senators' bats got started early, plating 3 in the first inning which was more than enough offense for Jason Erhardt. Erhardt spun another gem, going the distance for his fourth win of the season while also going 2-3 at the plate. Pat Dempsey paced the offense with three hits (one double) and Chris Holland chipped in two hits of his own. The Senators are back in action Thursday night against the Red Dogs and the Cubs will take on the Mariners in a double header next Sunday. |

Chris Holland, Tyler Waterman, and Kevin Jones each contributed 2 hits in the victory. Pirates starter, Paul Aseltine, turned in a complete game effort, giving up just 2 earned runs. |

Then in the bottom of the 7th, Ryan Ritell reached on an error, stole second, and was driven home on an RBI double by James O'Neil to tie the game. Two batters later, Bryan Weber hit a walk of single to centerfield giving the Royals the 8-7 victory. |

On a rain soaked Lexington High School field, the Senators managed to grab a victory in a tightly contested pitcher's duel. Tim Belanger went 5 innings to pick up his first victory in a Senators uniform, giving up only 1 hit and 3 walks to go along with 5 strikeouts. Christian Nashawaty pitched the final 2 innings to pick up his first save. Pat Dempsey carried the offensive load as he was 2-2 with a walk, a stolen base, and two runs scored.
For the Braves, starter Chris DeLouchrey made the Senators offense look silly for most of the day as he racked up 16 strikeouts in a complete game effort.
The Senators take on the Royals in a doubleheader next weekend while the Braves are back in action Friday night against the Cubs. |

Tom Nashawaty paced the offense with 2 hits and an RBI. The Senators are back in action next Sunday against new division rivals, Lexington Braves, while the Dodgers head up north to take on the Giants in Lynn. |
