John Surette (5-1) dazzles in this one as he threw a no-no against a tough team in the Southeast Senators.

Scattering only 3 walks, Surette controlled the strike zone allowing only 2 balls to leave the infield (2 fly ball outs) while picking up 7 Ks on his way to his 5th win of the year, and lowering his ERA to a miniscule 1.58.

The Giants will now go on to face the Pirates Sunday, August 12th in Dedham with The Giants controlling their own destiny in the last game of the year. A win in Dedham furnishes The Giants with the #1 seed throughout the playoffs.

The G-Men take care of business on the road beating the Cubs 13-4 in Weymouth.

A 6-run 1st set the table for the Giants, and aside from a 3-run 4th from the Cubs, it was all Giants.

Mark Infurna (6-0) picked up his sixth win and remains unbeaten on the year. Solid production up and down the lineup -- Jay Rogato was 2-4 with 3 RBIs and Scott Zukowski put on his cleats for the first time in a while and went 2-3 with 2 RBIs.

Giants are set to play a week 1 make-up game at Twi Friday night against the Expos and then back home Sunday to take on the Mariners.

The Giants displayed a horrid defensive effort in the 1st allowing 5 runs (2 earned) off of 7 errors (believe it or not, The Giants went on to play 8 clean defensive innings from there) laying up a 4 run lead for The Rockies after 1.

The Rockies tacked on another run in the 4th making it a 6-1 ballgame until The Giants put up a 5 spot of their own in the top half of the 5th to make it a 6-6 game.

The Giants went down quietly in their half of the 6th, but The Rockies went back ahead 7-6 off of a bases-empty, 2-out rally in the bottom half of the inning.

The Giants then manufactured a run off of a Gerry Leung lead off walk in the 7th to tie the game 7-7, and that's where it stayed until the top half of the 9th when Gerry Leung decided to blast a homerun over the left field wall putting The Giants ahead 8-7. Mark Infurna (5-0) pitched a clean 9th to preserve the win for the Giants while earning his league leading 5th win.

Mark Infurna (4-0) picked up his 4th win of the year, stopping the Giants' 2-game slide.

Giants' defense almost let the game get away with 6 team errors but Infurna kept them in the game, and the Giants rallied in the back end of the game to steal a win from the Braves.

Infurna pitched his 3rd consecutive CG dub and racked up 15Ks in this one, while only allowing 6 base runners.

Next up for the Giants is a doubleheader back at home versus the Methuen Rockies.

Classic Giants/Gators. Giants took the early lead, plating the 1st batter of the game, but Gators starter Bryan Watkins settled in, holding the Giants scoreless for the duration. Giants starter Mark Blake was likewise dominant, keeping the Gators off the board until a Kyle Hansen RBI single tied it up in the 5th. With 2 outs in the 7th and bases loaded, Chris Carey drove a ball to left for the Gators win.

Mark Infurna (3-0) outdueled Ricky Garthe to pick up his 3rd win of the year.

Fourteen hits between the two teams but most untimely, and did not materialize into many runs as both pitchers were able to get outs when they mattered most.

Infurna has now pitched back to back complete game shutouts and has yet to give up an earned run through 18 innings.

Canton Royals 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 3 1
North Shore Giants 0 0 0 2 0 6 x 8 10 2

Giants (5-0) and Royals (4-0), both undefeated, matchup for the first time since the 2017 Postseason.

Scoreless through the first 3 until the Royals plate 1 off of an errant pickoff attempt to first in the 4th by John Surette. The Giants would put up 2 in their half of the 4th off a 2-run single by Jay Rogato to take the lead.

The score stayed 2-1 until The Giants had a monster inning in the 6th led by a 3-run homer off the bat of Brian Maynard to make the score 8-1, essentially putting the game out of reach.

John Surette (2-0) pitched a complete game gem against his rival team surrendering only one unearned run (by his own doing), and limiting The Royals to just 3 hits while tallying 9 strikeouts. The win snaps The Royals' 17 game regular season winning streak.

The Giants, now 6-0 line up against The Gators Sunday for a DH at Fraser Field.

North Shore Giants 2, Essex County A's 0

 Summary | Box Score
Final 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 R H E
North Shore Giants 0 0 0 1 0 1 0 2 6 1
Essex County A's 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 2 2

Mark Infurna (2-0) threw a complete game shutout in game 2 of the doubleheader against the A's. Infurna let up only 2 hits and walked two while earning 4 Ks in the victory.

Game 2 was a prototypical pitcher's duel as Entner for the A's pitched a great game limiting the Giants to just 2 runs and 6 hits but Infurna was better on this day against his former team.

The Giants are off to their best start in team history (5-0) and seeking redemption from last year's playoff matchup against the rival Royals, who are also hot and undefeated at 4-0. The two teams will meet each other Friday night at Fraser Field.

North Shore Giants 13, Essex County A's 4

 Summary | Box Score
Final 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 R H E
Essex County A's 0 0 0 4 0 0 0 4 5 2
North Shore Giants 1 1 0 5 0 6 x 13 9 0

Cam Beaulieu (1-0) goes the distance in game 1 of the double header earning his first win of the year. Beaulieu was cruising through the first 3 until the A's put together a 4-run fourth. Beaulieu came back out in the fifth and battled back and quieted the A's bats back down to finish the game. Overall, Beaulieu was pretty dominant -- no-hitting the A's before and after the fourth inning.

In typical 2018 Giants' fashion, after losing the lead in the fourth, and facing a 4-2 deficit, the Giants' bats came roaring back and put up 5 runs in their half of the fourth to regain the lead.

Robert Kimber and Dante Padovani each with 3 RBIs in the win. Leadoff man, Justin Oblenes went 2-3, scoring 3 runs in the 13-4 win.

Malden Dodgers 3 1 0 0 0 0 0 4 8 1
North Shore Giants 0 1 4 7 2 1 x 15 15 0

The Dodgers got on the board early with a 2 out rally in the first that would see them score 3. They would score one more in the second, and that would be all -- The Giants bats erupted for 15 runs (7 run 4th) and won 15-4.

Through the first three games of the season, The Giants are averaging just over 11 runs per game, while only allowing an average of 3 runs scored against per game -- a ratio The Giants sure hope to keep going.

Next up are the rebranded A's, FKA the Indians for two at Fraser Field next Sunday.

Giants pick up the 14-2 win in a 5 inning shortened game versus the Black Sox. Mark Infurna (1-0) pitched a gem yielding only 3 hits, 2 unearned runs and tallied 9 Ks through 4 strong in his first start of the year.

Giants' bats from top to bottom were relentless throughout and the G-Men are now 2-0 on the young season. By the looks of things, it appears the Giants are going to have a really fun year.

Malden Marlins 0 0 2 0 0 0 1 3 8 1
North Shore Giants 0 0 1 0 2 2 x 5 5 0

On a pretty miserable, windy and cold evening for baseball, The Giants battled back down 0-2 to beat the Marlins 5-3 behind the bat of speedy outfielder, Justin Oblenes, who went 2-3 with a double and 3 RBIs.

Giants' pitching shared the seven inning load after starter, Jon Surette threw 3 strong and gave way to Mark Blake (1-0) who picked up the win throwing three scoreless innings while racking up 6 Ks -- Cam Beaulieu (S,1) sealed it up in the 7th picking up his first save of the young season.
