Strong pitching and a 5th inning rally led to the Senators 11th win of the season. Erhardt picked up his 7th win of the season in the complete game effort. Tyler Waterman had a 2-3 day, driving in the eventual winning run.

The G-Men take care of business on the road beating the Cubs 13-4 in Weymouth.

A 6-run 1st set the table for the Giants, and aside from a 3-run 4th from the Cubs, it was all Giants.

Mark Infurna (6-0) picked up his sixth win and remains unbeaten on the year. Solid production up and down the lineup -- Jay Rogato was 2-4 with 3 RBIs and Scott Zukowski put on his cleats for the first time in a while and went 2-3 with 2 RBIs.

Giants are set to play a week 1 make-up game at Twi Friday night against the Expos and then back home Sunday to take on the Mariners.

The Senators' bats got started early, plating 3 in the first inning which was more than enough offense for Jason Erhardt. Erhardt spun another gem, going the distance for his fourth win of the season while also going 2-3 at the plate. Pat Dempsey paced the offense with three hits (one double) and Chris Holland chipped in two hits of his own. The Senators are back in action Thursday night against the Red Dogs and the Cubs will take on the Mariners in a double header next Sunday.

The Cubs got back into the win column Sunday, beating the Braves 14-3.

As a team, the Cubs produced 30 base runners, thanks to 17 walks.

Bill McGee(0-1 4BB, HBP) and Kiyo Gomi (2-2, 3BB) were on base 5 times a each. Cory Albanese (2-4, 2BB, Triple) drove in 4 while also reaching base 4 times. Brian McCarthy (2-5, HBP) and Barret Jacobs (2-3, BB) had 2 hits a piece.

John Quigg (5-1) went the distance allowing 3 runs, while scartering 8 hits and striking out 6 against 0 walks.

The Cubs will be back at it Friday night against the Dodgers.

The Pirates broke out in game 1 of the doubleheader. Dan Brookfield was the star, going 2 for 2 with a double, walk, run, RBI and stolen base. He also picked up a hold as a LOOGY in support of starting pitcher Nate Fishman who logged a solid start in the win. The Cubs clawed back in the 7th, but Aseltine came in to shut the door late.

Cory Enayat is pulled off the bag in the 7th inning.

The Cubs edged out the Red Dogs in a clean and fast match up, 3-2.

Brian McCarthy hit a pair of doubles and scored a pair of runs. Jon Norris also had a two hit game.

Steve Doyle got the win scattering 5 hits, allowing 2 runs (1ER), with 3 k's against 0 walks. Doyle was efficient all morning going the distance on 78 pitches.

Cubs got their 3rd victory of the season over the Braves under the lights Friday, winning 8-3.

John Quigg got his second win of the year going 5.2 innings, allowing 3 runs (0ER), giving up 4 hits and striking out 4 against 4 walks. Jeff Holway contined to throw well in relief recording the final 4 outs.

The Cubs offense was lead by Shortstop Bill McGee (2RBI) and Centerfielder Kiyo Gomi (RBI), who each recorded 2 hits, scored a run and swiped a bag. Ben Savage and Joe Lydon also got in on the action scoring two runs a piece.

The Cmass Expos got into the inning circle in the second game of the DH behind the right arm of Cameron Fiorentino who spun a 2 hitter with 3 Ks and 0 BB.

With the sticks the Expos got it going with a 3 run homer from New Guy Steve Witkowski and Fiorentino helped himself with 3 hits, 3 steals, and 3 runs scored.

The Cubs started out the 2018 Season on a strong note downing the Rockies 16-8.

Despite the cold conditions, the Cubs bats were hot, driving in 13 runs on 12 hits.

The Cubs offense was paced by catcher Cory Albanese (2-4,2B,2RBI,SB,3R,HBP), Zach Walker(2-4,2B,3RBI,R) and Jon Norris (2-4,2RBI,2R). 11 different Cubs reached base.

John Quigg (4IP,6R,3ER,5K) and Kevin Ceurvels (3IP,2R,2ER,4K) got the job done on the mound.
