The Cardinals got the win Sunday morning to advance to the league Championship matchup. Tim Belanger was dominant on the mound, scattering 4 hits and striking out 5 to earn the complete game win.

The Cardinals struck first as Mike Bruemmel led off the game with an infield single. He stole second and was driven in on a 1 out single by Mike Dowd. The Royals tied the game in the 5th on a sac fly. Tyler Irving (2-2) led off the 6th with a sharp single. He rode home on a ground rule double by Vaihbav Desai (1-3). Belanger shut the door in the 7th.

The Cardinals await the winner of the Expos and Braves.

Justin Chere (W, 5IP, 4H, 3R, 0ER, BB, 3K) got the start on the mound opposing Giants lefty Mark Infurna. The Giants took the lead 3-0 but in the top of the 4th, the Royals loaded the bases with no outs and Brian Williams singled to put the Royals on the board. James O'Neil walked forcing in a run and was followed by an RBI single by Bryan Weber tying the game 3-3. Nico Rodriguez worked a walk forcing in the go ahead run and chasing Infurna from the game. Giants pitcher Cam Beaulieu relieved Infurna and tried to pick off Rodriguez at first but threw the ball away scoring O'Neil. Mike Ahearn capped off the inning with a two run single up the middle bringing the score to 7-3. Chere made quick work of the Giants hitters in the 4th and 5th and gave way to Chris Johnson who pitched the final two innings striking out 4 of the 6 hitters he faced.

The Royals ended the regular season winning their 13th straight game as they defeated the defending CABL champs the Metro Gators by a score of 8-2. Justin Chere got the start and picked up the win going 6 innings, giving up 2 runs on 8 hits with no walks and 3 Ks. The Royals offense pounded out 8 runs on 12 hits led by Mike Ahearn (3-4, 2R, 2B, RBI), Mike McKie (3-4, RBI), and Dominic Coviello (2-3, R).

The Royals defeated the Lawrence Yankees yesterday by a score of 10-3 and have now won 12 games in a row. Ryan Bowen started on the mound and gave another great performance. Bowen picked up the win going 6 innings allowing no runs on 4 hits with 1 walk and 3 Ks. Mike Ahearn (2-4, 2R), Ryan Ritell (1-2, R, 3RBI, SAC Fly), and Brian Williams (1-3, 2RBI, BB) led the offense to double digit runs for the 6th time this season.

Looking to keep the win streak alive, the Royals took on the Pepperell Red Dogs today in Canton. Both teams were short staffed today and the Royals had to call on closer Eddie Lockhart to make his first start on the mound since 2014. Lockhart picked up the win going 4 innings giving up 1 run (unearned) on 3 hits with 1 walk and 2 strikeouts. Ben Palatino went 3-4 with a run, an RBI, and a stolen base and brothers Bryan and Scott Weber eached added 2 run singles during the game. Scheduled starter Chris Johnson arrived late but pitched the final three innings picking up the save and securing the win with the final score of 5-4.

The Royals look to make it 12 in a row when they take on the Lawrence Yankees next Sunday.

The Royals made it 9 in a row on Sunday defeating the North Shore Giants 6-5 in extra innings. Mike McKie got things going in the 4th inning with a 2 run single and with the game at 3-1 going into the seventh, the Giants battled back and tied the game 3-3. In the 8th inning, the Royals got the first two runners on base and when Ben Palatino laid down a sac bunt, the ball was thrown past the Giants first baseman allowing Ryan Ritell to score the go ahead run. Two batters later, Scott Weber dunked an RBI single into centerfield and as the throw from the outfield skipped past home plate, another run scored making the game 6-3. Justin Chere entered the game for the save opportunity and the Giants got a two run triple from Robert Kimber. Chere induced a slow comebacker to the mound which he tossed to first base for the final out of the game securing the win for the Royals.

The Royals took on the red hot Malden Braves who came into today winning their last 10 games. Chris Johnson took to the mound for the Royals the threw 6 innings of four hit ball and allowed only 2 runs (both unearned). With the game tied 2-2 in the bottom of the 5th, Mike Ahearn broke the tie with an RBI groundout and Derek Palatino capped off the inning with a two run single. The Royals tacked on 7 more runs in the sixth as the Braves relief pitching struggled to find the plate and Kevin Ceurvels and Mike McKie each added two run singles in the inning.

The Royals take on the North Shore Giants next week at Fraser Field in Lynn.

The Royals extended their winning streak to 7 this past Sunday defeating the Boston Cubs 5-0. Justin Chere picked up the win going 5 innings giving up no runs on 4 hits while striking out 5. Nate Spielvogel and Eddie Lockhart each pitched a scoreless inning to preserve the shutout. The Royals got RBI hits from Derek Palatino and Brian Williams and James O'Neil continued to swing a hot bat going 2-2 with a solo homerun. The Royals look to keep the win streak going as they face off against an 11-2 Malden Braves team on Sunday July 23rd at Gibson Field in Canton at 10am.

The Royals kept rolling today with their sixth straight win defeating the Beverly Indians by a score of 13-5. Ryan Bowen picked up his fourth straight win on the mound and the Royals offense stayed hot putting up double digit runs for the third straight game. Led by Scott Weber (3-5, 2B, 2RBI), the Royals also got multiple hits from Mike Ahearn, Derek Palatino, Ben Palatino, and Brian Williams. With both Royals catchers missing from the game, Dominic Coviello stepped up to catch for the first time since 2015 and also scored 3 runs on the day.

The Royals brought their winning streak to 5 this past Thursday night defeating the Pirates by a score of 14-2 in 5 innings. After putting up 17 runs on 16 hits four days earlier, the Royals bats continued to roll as the collected 14 runs on 14 hits in just 4 innings before the game was called due to the league run rule. Chris Johnson picked up the win going 4 innings giving up 2 runs (1 earned) on 2 hits, walking one and striking out 4. All 9 players in the starting linup collected at least 1 hit and 8 of the 9 starters scored at least 1 run.

After the July 4th break, the Royals will host the Beverly Indians on Sunday July 9th at 9:30am at Ruane Field in Canton.

After taking Game 1 of the double header, the Royals bats exploded for 17 runs on 16 hits (both team records) led by Ryan Ritell who went 4-5 with a double, 2 runs, 2 stolen bases, and 7 RBI (which is both a CABL and team record for most RBI in a single game). Brothers Ben and Derek Palatino combined to score 7 runs. Mike McKie and Nico Rodriguez added 2 hits and 2 RBI each. While the defense was not as crisp as it was in Game 1, the offensive outburst by the Royals bats led to an easy 17-8 victory.

The Royals picked up their second win in a row Sunday defeating division rivals the Quincy Pirates 4-2 in Boston. Ryan Bowen took to the mound and delivered another solid performance going 6 innings picking up the win allowing just 2 runs (1 earned). Mike McKie and Scott Weber picked up RBI singles early in the game and Ryan Ritell drove in two with a bases loaded single in the 5th inning. Closer Eddie Lockhart picked up his second save of the season pitching a scoreless seventh. Yesterday was Lockhart's 45th career appearence on the mound for the Royals and passes Jimmy Selig (44) for the most games pitched in Royals history.

After dropping Game 1 of their double header with the Southeast Senators by a score of 7-3, the Royals' bats came roaring back in Game 2 as they scored 13 runs on 15 hits. Derek Palatino, Chris Johnson, Nico Rodriguez, Ben Palatino, Bryan Weber, and Dominic Coviello all collected multiple hits in the game. And starting pitcher Ryan Bowen shut down the Senators offense tossing 6 shutout innings and the Royals went on to win Game 2 by a score of 13-0.

The Senators rode another strong start by ace, Jason Erhardt (4-0), in route to a 7-3 victory in game of the double header. After running into some trouble in the first, Erhardt only gave up one more run as he settled down to go 6 and earn the win. On the offensive side of the ball, John Reed contributed two hits. Some defensive miscues by the Royals in the fourth inning opened the door for the Senators to score 4.

The Expos got back in the win coiumn behind a gutty CG from Alex Croteau and an offense lead by Jerette Hughes (2-3) 2 runs, 2 RBI, and Kevin Lynch (2-4) 2 RBI.

Tyler Waterman got the W in game 2 of the doubleheader for the Cardinals throwing 2.1 innings out of the bullpen. The Cards rattled off 15 hits including Desai's 2nd HR of the day. Tyler Dennis finished 4-5 and Tyler Irving was 3-3 at the dish. Anthony Tempesta got the save for the Cardinals who moved to 4-0 on the season.

Tim Belanger moved to 2-0 on the season with a CG SO. The first five hitters of the game scored for the Cardinals which was powered by a Vaibhav Desai 2-Run HR in his first AB of the season. Tyler Waterman (2R, 2RBI) and Frank Peloso (1R) both had 2 hits for the Cards. Drew Larson got on base all 5 AB's.

The Cubs stretched their win streak to 3, beating the Royals 5-1. Corey Albanese (CUBS) filled the stat sheet going 2 for 3 with a 2B, SB, RBI and two runs scored. Billy McGee (2-3) , Kiyo Gomi (2-3,R,3SB)and Mike Carpentier (1-3,2B,2RBI,R) all had solid offensive nights as Well.

Eric Walz got the W going 5 strong(7H,BB,6K), while only allowing one unearned run. John Quigg closed the door, going the final two innings and only allowing a single hit.

Methuen got their first victory of the season in a game that took an extra inning to complete. Nick Buote went all 8 innings to carry the tide on his back. He gave up the lead in the 7th, but scored the deciding run in the 8th to make up for it.

The Canton Royals improved to 2-0 on Sunday defeating the Billerica Warriors 5-3. After securing a 4 run lead going into the bottom of the sixth, a couple hits by the Warriors along with a couple errors by the Royals brought the game to 4-3. The Royals tacked on an insurance run in the seventh via an RBI ground out by Mike McKie and Justin Chere pitched a scoreless seventh inning picking up the save.

For the second straight season, the Royals and Mariners kicked off opening day in the CABL as third year veteran Chris Johnson took the mound for the Royals opposite of Mariners ace Chris Horne. Johnson pitched 5 scoreless innings allowing only two hits with four strikeouts picking up the win. The Royals offense scored 9 runs in 5 innings off Horne, the CABL reigning CY Young winner. Catcher Ryan Ritell led the offense going 2-2 with a walk, a run scored, and 3 RBI.

Next week the Royals head to Billerica to take on the Warriors.
