Mike Smith turns in a gritty performance, throwing all 10 innings for the Spartans and surrendering just 1 earned run on a Lightbody HR in the 1st. Smith's 2nd win of the series capped off a run of 17 innings pitched while allowing only 1 earned run over that span. The Spartan bats came alive in the top of the 10th. Cleary lead off with a walk and Stande reached on an error. The next 4 Spartan hitters had hits, capped off by a 2-run bases loaded single off the bat of Frank Alexopoulos to open things up. Hats off to the Bombers for a great battle that took extra frames to decide the series winner.

Bryan Curran comes into that game in relief to get the Spartans out of a jam in the 1st and ends up going the distance to pick up the W. Curran scattered 2 hits and struck out 7 over 6 and 2/3 innings in the effort. At the plate Curran went 3-4 with two doubles, 2 RBI, and 2 runs scored to go along with a stolen base. Frank Alexopoulos went 2-4 with a double and 2 RBIs, and Tony Iafolla had a perfect day at the dish going 2-2 with a run, a walk and a hit-by-pitch.
