They chose option A and posted 4 runs in the 2nd on a few walks and big hits by Desai and Egan. Sean Simas kept his cool and worked out of jams until the 6th when the Padres strung some hits and runs together.
Dwyer comes in and turns a big 1-5-3 double play to end the rally. Hernandez closes the door in the 7th. |

Kevin Mac continues to roll winning his 4th game in a row over the Padres with strong relief from James Mulry. The offense was led by Danny Rose (2 for 4 with a double and triple), Christian Hodge(HR and 3 RBI), Joey Lyons and Sam Miller with 2 hits apiece. Emergency catcher Chris Johnson who was placed into action after Max Berner left the game after a foul ball off the foot turned in a solid performance throwing out one runner and picking off another at 1st. The 6th inning had some excitement as Derek Reddy made an outstanding play throwing a strike to Chris at the plate for a bang, bang play to record the out. |

After posting 2 runs in the second, Cannon bats heat up and add 3 in the third on consecutive hits by McCann, McCue, Bavly, and Colon.
More of the same in the 4th with consecutive hits by Leung, McCann, McCue (3-4, 3 runs, 2rbi) and another triple by Bavly (3-5, 3 runs, 2rbi).
Campion was on his game through 5 yielding only 1 run on 4 hits.
Cannon stretches the lead in the 6th with Hemmer's second hit and 3rd rbi of the game. Then the sloppy D showed up and Cannon makes 4 errors in the last two innings to allow the Padres to score.
Soto hits a 2 run HR for the Padres in the 6th.

McCue added insurance in the 4th with a 2 run single after a Bauer triple and walk to Neshe. Another Bauer triple in the 6th added one more when Neshe drove him in. |

A classic pitcher's duel between Raymond Malagon of the Padres and Jared Blandino of ADSL saw both pitcher's throw seven scoreless innings into extra innings.
In the 8th, a two-out dropped fly ball got ADSL on the board, followed by an infield single and a defensive mishap by the Padres allowing Blandino to run home during a mound visit by the catcher with timeout never being called.
Malagon suffered the tough loss with both runs unearned and scattering five hits. Blandino threw a complete game, extra inning shutout allowing five hits and striking out seven on the night.

After being down 2- 0 2B Jaoquin Figueroa hits a solo HR over the wall in left in the 3rd, then in the 4th Zach Barrett ties the game with a solo shot to right to tie the game. Padres take the lead with a single and stolen base from Marcos Reiky Rey Reyes then he was knocked in with a single from Ervin Kantardžić. The Cardiac Kids are back. After trailing 3-0 going into the bottom of the 5th and then 3-1 in the bottom of the 7th. SS Erick Ramirez(2 for 3) led the 7th off with an infield hit, then was followed by TJ Lane(2 for 3,R) and Joaquim Figueroa(1 for 2,R,RBI) with singles to close the gap to 3-2, a pass ball made it 1st and 3rd,(should of been 2nd & 3rd) but we'll take it. After a strikeout Zach Barrett(1 for 3,RBI) gets down 1-2 in the count, as the runner goes from 1st, Zach hits a hard ground ball through the SS hole that explodes on the LF and gets by. Figueroa, who was on the move scores the game winner from 1st for the win. Jeremy Leopoid comes out of the bullpen to get the win. Starter Ray Malagon(without his best stuff) battled for 5 innings to keep us in the game. |
