Chris DeLauchrey struck out 10 in his 3rd win of the season. Though he gave up season high in walks and hits the Braves offense ensured the win with a 6-hit 5th inning scoring 6 runs. Abel Faron had the best day of the Braves going 2-2 with a run and RBI. He also had the games lone stolen base for the Braves.

In a pitcher's duel between the Cubs' ace Eric Walz and the Brave's Ariel Ramos, the day's sum total of offense consisted of a disputed double down the right field line by Cubs' SS Billy McGee, followed by a wild pitch, and an RBI infield single by Kiyo Gomi. Ramos and Walz consistently dominated the opposing offenses as the Cubs eked out the the 1-0 victory.

After suffering a tough loss against the Gators, the Pirates gave the ball back to night game starting extraordinaire Andy Burkett and he delivered a solid performance. In a deadlocked pitchers duel, two key RBI knocks in the 6th proved to be the difference and the Pirates held on in the 7th for a 3-2 win to improve to (2-3).

Looking to bounce back from an 0-2 start to the year, the Royals took on the Malden Braves in Canton on Sunday. In a rematch from the second meeting between these two teams in 2015, Justin Chere faced off against Braves starter Ariel Ramos. After a quick 1-2-3 first inning, the Royals wasted no time putting a few runs on the board. Mike Ahearn led off the game with an infield single and quickly stole second and third. Derek Palatino singled home Ahearn and took second base on an E7. After Paltino swiped third base, Ryan Ritell drove in Palatino with a sacrifice fly. Chere and Ramos, in almost a repeat of last years game, battled back and forth all morning pitching very effectively and keeping the game at 2-0. In the bottom of the sixth, Bryan Weber hit a two run double giving the Royals a 4-0 lead. Chere (6IP, 5H, 0R, 5K) gave way to closer Eddie Lockhart who pitched a 1-2-3 seventh inning striking out the side.

The Braves' Ariel Ramos (1-0) threw a 1-hit complete game shutout Sunday fanning 10 Titans. The lone offence game from Damian Gonzalez (2-3; RBI knocking in Alex Carras (1-2, R). The Braves move to 1-2 with their first win of the year.
