The Giants coming off of a division sweep Sunday vs the Red Dogs look to keep it going Wednesday night against the Nationals at Twi. Both sides had quiet bats through the 3rd but the Giants break the scoreless tie in the 4th when they rally off of a bases empty, 2 out error which put Catcher, Mike Steffany on first. He would come around to score later in the inning off of a single and E5 putting the Giants up 1-0. The Nationals would tie it one a piece in the 5th but with some timely hitting, the Giants would come right back and take the 3-1 lead in their half of the inning. Pitcher, Shane Flanagan was sensational hurling a CG and limited the Nationals to just 6 base runners through 7. Giants have quietly won 3 in a row and are firing on all cylinders with solid pitching, defense and hitting. The Giants will get a break Sunday and pick back up next Friday night against the South Division's Quincy Pirates.

For the second straight game, the Royals lineup produced 14 runs and won in five innings. It was a different story this Sunday compared to last week's dull affair filled with walks, errors, and hit batsmen. The Royals tallied 15 hits with a huge chunk of them coming in a 9 run fourth inning, all of which were scored with 2 outs. James O'Neil got the inning rolling with a 3-run HR to left. Rather than kill the rally, the HR energized the lineup and the Royals would produce another 6 runs before recording a third out. Center Fielder Derek Palatino provided another spark for the offense, driving in 3 runs and scoring 3. Palatino, Brian Williams, Scott Weber, Ryan Ritell, and O'Neil all had multi-hit games.

Tony Levya picked up the win in his first start since 2014. Levya got the complete game victory going 5 innings, giving up 2 unearned runs with 0 walks and 5 strikeouts.

ROSLINDALE -- After leaving six baserunners stranded after six innings down 1-0 to division rival Waltham, things were starting to look bleak for the defending champion Mariners. Better late than never, Ryan Manning stepped to the plate in the bottom of the 7th and ripped a double into left. Tyler Higgins followed with a single, putting runners at 1st and 3rd with no outs. Scott Haley then walked to the plate and as if it were a scene from an ESPN 30 for 30 special, made eye contact with Manning at 3rd and they both knew -- squeeze. Haley got the bunt down, while Manning slid home, tying the game. The Nats worked out of the jam, but two innings later, Manning doubled again, setting up the game winning hit -- a double by Tyler Higgins . This effort was only made possible by a dominant pitching performance by Chris Horne who went the distance going 9 innings, striking out 9, and allowing one unearned run for a hard fought victory.
