DeLauchrey settled down after letting up two unearned runs in the first to notch another win. He allowed only 1 hit over 7 innings while striking out 13. DeLauchrey also singled three times with an RBI and a run. Abe Guillen also had a multi-hit game going 2-4 with a double.

Cam Beaulieu took the hill and had a rough first inning loading the bases but getting out of the jam. After that the Rangers didn't have a chance. Beaulieu pitched a cg 1 hit shutout with 15 K's.

The two expansion teams battled under the lights on Friday night at Methuen high. Evan Comeau started for the Cardinals and surrendered 2 runs (1ER) through 7 innings while striking out 7. Matt Sliney picked up his 6th win of the year in relief. With two outs in the bottom of the 8th inning Mike Coffey hit a sharp line drive in to right field to score Tyler Irving on a walkoff single. Bobby Cole through 7 impressive innings for the Methuen Rangers in the loss.

Methuen survived great pitching from Eaton. 6 errors and timely hits from the rangers made the difference in this one. Bobby Cole got the win by avoiding trouble in most innings except the 6th. Everytime the gators were threatening, the rangers were able to escape.

Nick Buote led the rangers in this one with the bat and on the mound. He went 4 for 4 and scored all four times he reached base. While on the mound he pitched a complete game 3 hit gem striking out 13 in the process.

The Red Dog bats came out hot in Game 1 of their doubleheader with the Rangers, led by Cory Dows and newcomer Ben Wright. Dows drove in 4 of his fellow Dogs with 2 big doubles, while Wright had a solid debut, going 2-4 with a double and 2 runs scored. Wright was also solid behind the plate, calling a spectacular game for Ryan Baldinelli.

Baldinelli was dominant all day against the Rangers, tossing a complete game in his first start of 2016, striking out 12. The man they call "Blades" had the Rangers off balance all day, mixing up his junk and painting the corners, leading the Dogs to their 4th victory of the season.

The Royals got back to .500 on Sunday with a 14-0 victory over the Methuen Rangers in just 5 innings. The Rangers came into the game with virtually no pitching and the Royals made them pay. In addition to the Royals' 8 hits, they reached on 7 walks, 4 HBP, and 4 errors. Derek Palatino led the offense with 4 runs scored for the second time in his career, tying his own CABL record for runs scored in a game.

Chris Johnson earned his first victory of 2016, giving up 0 runs on 1 hit through 4 innings. Closer Eddie Lockhart made quick work of the Rangers in the last inning to send the Royals home before the rains came.

The Giants look to sweep the Rangers in game 2 of the doubleheader at Palmer Cove. Shane Flanagan pitches a great game allowing 2 hits over 4 innings and gives way to Talal Saleh in relief. Saleh gives up 3 earned to the Rangers over 2 innings of work making it a 1 run game entering the 7th. With the 1 run lead, enter Everett Strauss looking for his first save of the year. Strauss and the Giants make it look interesting allowing the tying and winning runs to reach second and 3rd but Strauss buckles down with a game ending strike out to hang on and take home the win. The win goes to Shane Flanagan, making him 1-1 on the year.

The first game of the twin billing between the visiting Rangers and the at home Giants turned out to be a pitcher's duel between Bobby Cole of the Rangers and the Giants', Ben Kendrew. Kendrew outdueled Cole spinning a gem only giving up 4 hits and no walks on his way to a CG SO while notching 8Ks to boot. Kendrew picked up the win with the help John Surette who in the 4th, struck out but reached first on a wild pitch. Surette followed up the K by stealing second and was brought around to score two ABs later on an Everett Strauss RBI single which turned out to be the winning and only run scored in the game.

Methuen jumped up to a quick one run lead in the bottom of the first after back to back singles from Josh Gil and Kyle Charette, and then Bobby Cole hit the rbi double to knock Josh Gil home. The only other run of the game came in the third inning when Gil hit a one out single. He then stole second base and reached third on a wild pitch. Kyle Charette got a fielders choice to knock in Gil. The rest of the highlights from this game came from the pitching duel that was Methuen's Madden and Norfolk County's Capobianco. Capobianco gave up 2 runs on 5 hits and struck out 7. Brenden Madden threw 6 shutout innings allowing only 2 hits and struck out 6. He walked 4 and hit 1. Even though base runners were problematic at times he found a way to pitch his way out of the jams. Mark Sicard came in to pitch a perfect 7th to save the game.
Next up for the Methuen Rangers is a divisional matchup with the North Shore Giants.

The Quincy Pirates turned to ace Paul Aseltine for his 10th-straight Opening Day start, and the veteran delivered once again. The righty pitched six strong innings, allowing just three hits and no walks while striking out 10 as the Bucs downed the Methuen Rangers 4-1 in Roslindale. Nick Buote battled on the hill for the visitors, but a few timely hits from the Pirates proved to be the difference. The Bucs improved to 1-0 while the Rangers fell to 0-1.
