The Cardinals avoided elimination with a 2-1 win against the Titans. Tim Belanger was spectacular again, taking a no-hitter into the 6th inning. He finished the complete game with no earned runs. Anthony Tempesta scored the Cardinals first run and knocked in their second while Dan Belanger scored in the 2nd inning after a single. Evan Dedrick made an unbelievable play, gunning down the tying run at the plate to end the game.

The Cardinals recorded their first ever CABL post season victory over the Canton Royals. Tim Belanger carried a no-hitter into the 6th inning and ended up going the distance surrendering only 3 hits over 7 innings. Anthony Tempesta paced the offense for the red birds reaching base in all 3 of his at bats (2hits). Evan Comeau stole home in the first inning which proved to be a very important run down the stretch. Tyler Irving added two hits for the Cardinals and Will Lucini had an RBI single. The Cardinals have their hands full in round 2 of the winners bracket as they take on the Mariners Thursday night.

The Cardinals closed out the season with a win against the Canton Royals. Matt Sliney hurled a gem over 6 innings, allowing 4 hits and 0ER. Sliney helped himself at the dish recording his first 2 hits of the season going 2-3 with 1R & 1 RBI. Mike Coffey scored 2R & 1SB. Anthony Tempesta had 3R & 3SB for the Cardinals including a straight stole of home in the 6th inning. The two teams face off in what should be a great matchup in the first round of the 2016 playoffs.

The Cardinals rattled off 10 hits, led by Evan "John Rocker" Comeau who was 2-2 with a triple, 2 runs, 3 RBI, and a stolen base. Tyler Dedrick added 2 hits and 2 runs for the Cardinals. Evan Dedrick added 2 runs and an RBI for the Cards.

The two expansion teams battled under the lights on Friday night at Methuen high. Evan Comeau started for the Cardinals and surrendered 2 runs (1ER) through 7 innings while striking out 7. Matt Sliney picked up his 6th win of the year in relief. With two outs in the bottom of the 8th inning Mike Coffey hit a sharp line drive in to right field to score Tyler Irving on a walkoff single. Bobby Cole through 7 impressive innings for the Methuen Rangers in the loss.

After game 2 starter Justin Chere was unable to start after warming up, the Royals looked to Chris Johnson to fill in. Considering Johnson got 5 minutes notice before starting the game, he pitched brilliantly. He gave the Royals 6 strong innings allowing 1 run (unearned) on 3 hits with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. Bryan Weber hit a 2 run double in the second inning and CJ Flannery knocked him home with a basehit 3 batters later and that was all the offense Johnson would need. Eddie Lockhart picked up his first save of the year closing the door in the 7th.

On Sunday June 26th, the Royals took on the first place South Shore Cardinals for a double header in Canton. Ryan Bowen got the start for the Royals pitching 6 innings giving up 2 runs on 6 hits while striking out 3 and picked up his 3rd consecutive win. The Royals picked up some timely hits throughout the game and won by a score of 6-2.

After coming off one of worst losses in team history, the Pirates battled to a hard fought win against the first place Cardinals. Fielding only 9 men with many playing out of position, the Bucs won 5-4 with Andy Burkett pitching a complete game win. Andrew Ostashen had the go ahead RBI single in the sixth and helped turn the game saving double play in the 7th to preserve the win.

FRANKLIN -- In game one of the much anticipated doubleheader between the 8-2 South Division leading South Shore Cardinals & the 7-3 Norfolk County Mariners, Mariner Chris Horne took the mound looking for his 5th win. Despite his defense letting him down in a huge way by committing six errors, Horne allowed only one hit on the day working out of multiple jams. The Mariners were led on offense with two hits a piece from Horne, Scott Haley, & cleanup hitter Alec Palioca -- who batted in three of the M's 6 runs. Palioca slammed the door shut in the 7th in relief of Horne, striking out the side as the Mariners won 6-2.

The teams traded runs in the 7th to force extras where the cardinals pushed across 2 runs sparked by a leadoff Mike Coffey double. Catcher Dan Belanger and Tyler Irving both reached base 4 times while Tempesta and Howland reached 5 times each (Howland 3 hits). Tyler Waterman led the game with 3 runs scored. The Cardinals played solid defense, spinning 3 double plays in the game. Evan Comeau slammed the door in 7th to seal the victory.

Matt Sliney (W2-1) pitched the Cardinals to their third straight victory. The Cards started the scoring in the 4th with a ground rule double onto Turtle Pond Parkway by Leo Finnegan. The Red Dogs quickly responded in the next half to tie the game at 1. With 2 outs in the 6th the Cardinals rattled off three consecutive 2 out hits, including a triple by Evan Dedrick, each driving in 1. Evan Comeau came in to seal the victory for the Cardinals throwing 2 scoreless innings. The Cards played flawless defense behind solid pitching in the win.

In the 3rd, Coffey and Marshall were plated on a single by Trenteseaux and sac fly by Finnegan. The Cards got their 4th run on Dan Belangers 2nd single capped by an RBI single by T.Dedrick. The Pirates got 2 in the 7th but was not enough as the Cardinals escaped with the victory.

Tim Belanger (W,1-0) threw 7 strong innings surrendering 2 runs (1 earned) while striking out 9. Mike Marshall paced the offense, scoring in both the 1st and 4th innings. The pirates responded with two of their own in the 4th to tie the game. In the 5th the Cards rattled off 3 straight hits which was capped by a 2 run single by Tempesta, scoring Waterman and Lucini. The Cards plated an insurance run in the 7th as Trenteseaux drove in Tempesta on a Sac fly.
