Trafecanty went 6 and 1/3 and allowed just 3 singles to pick up the W. Desai threw well for ADSL, going the distance and allowing just 5 hits in the contest. But unlike Game 1, Palmer received clutch hitting with runners on base to scratch 4 across on the tough lefty.

The Palmer offense was carried by Dorian Rojas (2-3, RBI) and Marvin Malaret (1-2, 2 RBI) early, and Jim Pierce drove home an insurance run in the 7th. Rojas led off the 4th with a bomb to left that went for a double. Malaret then launched a scud missile over the right center field wall to break a scoreless tie that put Palmer up 2-0. Palmer added a run in the 6th when Phelan reached on an infield single, stole 2nd, and scored on Rojas' 2nd hit after a lengthy at-bat resulting in a clean line drive to left center.

Down 8-0 in the 4th inning, Grossman stages an improbable comeback and wins their 5th game in a row in dramatic fashion on a walkoff single by Chris Malloy in the bottom of the 7th knocking in Rick Salvucci. For Malloy, it would be his 4th hit of the night; for Salvucci, his third.

Grossman chipped away with three runs in the 4th on RBI's by Carrera, Salvucci and Tenaglia. Eric Williams, in relief of Morgan Williams, came in and seemingly shut the door, striking out 4 of the first 6 batters he faced. But Grossman wasn't finished, scoring five runs in the 6th with the big hits by Malloy and Tom Wells who each had 2 RBI singles. That set the stage for the dramatic 7th.
