CAMBRIDGE SPINNERS WIN TITLE!

The Spinners capped off their extraordinary season with a 13-5 win over Ben's Dream White Sox to win the championship series three games to one. Marty Clarke earned the win, going five innings and striking out three. Dan Blum pitched the last two innings in relief to seal the championship.

Cambridge's offense exploded for 15 hits and were led by Ryan Gaffney, who had four hits and drove in four runs. Isaac Valvidiezo had two hits, including a triple and drove in four runs. Omar Cacers had three hits, inlcuding two doubles and drove in two runs. Eight different Spinners had hits and everyone in the lineup reached base at least once.

The White Sox played hard and refused to quit. Anthony Morales had three hits and he and Alex Weldon drove in two runs each.

Congratulations to the Cambridge Spinners on an historic first title and to Ben's Dream White Sox for a hard-fought playoff run.

The Spinners won game two of the finals 9-1 over the White Sox. Dan Blum pitched a complete game, giving up one run on three hits while striking out seven.

Leading the offense for the Spinners was Mark Killoren with two hits and two RBIs. Bob Maccioli also had two hits and two runs batted in, as well as Ryan Gaffney. Gaffney also made a big defensive play to stop a Sox rally. In total, eight Spinners had hits in the game.

Cambridge will look to sweep the finals Friday night in Malden.

The Spinners take game one of their championship series against the White Sox 5-2. Luc Kocher went 6.2 innings, giving up two runs, while striking out five. Dan Blomerth came on for the last out and the save.

Isaac Valvidiezo led the offense with two hits and scored twice, while Omar Caceres drove in two runs.

Cambridge jumped out to a 5-0 lead before the White Sox came back. Anthony Morales had two doubles and scored a run while Josh Valero and Bobby Foote each drove in runs.

A's TAKE GAME 3; LEAD 2-1

The White Sox scored the first run of the contest on a Bobby Foote triple and an Omar Ortiz sacrifice fly.

The A's notched it in the 2nd when Patrick Vetter laced an RBI double to center.

The A's scored 3 more in the 4th, capitalizing on RBI singles from Dave Clarke and Warren Asdornvuttikrai. Then then secured insurance runs in the 5th and 6th, including a second RBI double from Vetter.

The White Sox clawed back in the 7th, scoring 3 runs. After Chris Deane ripped a 2-RBI single, which brought the tying run to the plate. But Kyle Breidenstine proved too dominant. He induced a groundout to end the game, finishing with 4 strikeouts and yielding just 4 hits.

For the A's, Vetter finished 2-3 with 2 doubles and 2RBI; Asdornvuttikrai was 3-4 with a RBI; and Barton and Clarke each had 2 hits. For the Sox, Foote and Deane each went 2-3.

Game 4 is Thursday night at Fallon Field.

HUBER THROWS GEM IN GAME 1 OF SEMIS

Huber set the tone by striking out the side in the top of the first. The A's struck in the bottom half. Nick Barton laced a double to drive in the first run. Dave Clarke hit a single over to drive in Warren Asdornvuttikrai, and Krall drove in the third run on a FC. The younger Asdornvuttikrai keeps playing well, going 2-3 at the plate.

White Sox starter Alex Weldon would settle down, though, cruising through innings 2-5. Weldon also tacked on a hit of his own at the plate. The A's would tack on and insurance run in the 6th on a Brian Colella RBI single.

Things got hairy in the 7th for the A's, as they made 2 errors that would have ended the game. Josh Valerio hit an RBI single to make it 4-1. Huber, though, induced a double play ball, capped by an amazing pick at first by Jay Lamoureux to end the ball game.

Game 2 set for Sunday night at Nipper Maher in Waltham, 7pm.

A five-run explosion in the second inning lifted the Padres to a 6-0 win over the White Sox at Revere - Revere HS on Saturday.

The Padres' Hamlet Tejada kept the White Sox off the scoreboard for all seven innings he was on the mound. He pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on two hits while striking out six.

The Padres scored in the second on an RBI double by Luis Caro, , and a three-run double by Juan Williams.

Luis Caro had a hot bat for the Padres. Luis Caro went 2-3, drove in one and scored two runs.

Jon Shepard couldn't get it done on the hill for the White Sox, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in seven innings, walked none and struck out seven.

After the Orioles jumped out to an early lead, the White Sox clawed back to tie the game with 2 runs in the top of the 6th inning. The O's responded in the bottom half of the 6th with 3 runs of their own, and then made them stand up in the 7th.

Newcomer Samuel Aquino picked up the W after Mike Bartlett pitched 5 solid innings with 6 K's.

Jon Shepard (5IP, 8K's) pitched well for the White Sox but took the loss.

SS Leo Romero (2B, HR, 3RBI) and 2B Andre Souffrant (2-4, 2R, 2RBI, 2SB) sparked the O's offense. SS Josh Valerio (2B, BB, 2RBI) led the White Sox attack.

White Sox bats wake up behind Yunior Gonzalez. Gonzalez went 6 strong innings on the hill during his first outing of the season.

For the Sox offense Valerio had a 4 hit day and John Heim was perfect at the dish chipping in 3 hits of his own. Tosi & Lembo also added multi-hit games.

Defensively, Josh Valerio was rock solid once again at SS and Anthony Morales was tremendous in CF.

An outstanding effort by Jose Pena lifted the Padres to a 5-0 win over the White Sox on Thursday at Breed Edmunds - Lynn, MA.

Jose Pena got the win for the Padres thanks to 10 strikeouts. The Padres' pitcher gave up just three hits over seven shutout innings.

The Padres never surrendered the lead after the fifth inning, scoring five runs.

O's enjoy a walk off win. Down 2-0 in the 6th, Leo Romero and Mike Bartlett hit RBI triples to RF, and then Jose De Los Santos hit a sac fly to give the Orioles the lead.

But the White Sox fought back. Down to their final out, they tied the game on an RBI single.

The Orioles ultimately secured the game on an RBI single to center which plated Andre Souffrant.

Carlos Osorio earned the W out of the bullpen. Alex Weldon threw a complete game for the Sox.

Both pitchers were locked in a pitcher's duel until the 7th, when the A's scored 5 runs to put the game out of reach.

The A's got on the board in the 4th thanks to a Jordan Krall RBI single. The White Sox would threaten in the 5th, loading the bases with 1 out. Breidenstine was able to hold them, thanks to a diving snag off the bat of Valerio.

The A's broke it open in the top of the 7th. O'Keefe and Krall would lead off the inning with singles. Vadala then drive a single to the right-center to make it 2-0. Clarke drove a single over the drawn-in infield to make it 3-0. Donaruma walked, and then Barton plated 2 more with a single to make it 5-0. Pat Vetter capped a 3-4 day (RBI, 2B) with an infield single to make it 6-0.

For the White Sox, Yunior Gonazalez had a 2-3 day at the plate with an RBI.

Backed by the pitching of Dan Blum and Luc Kocher, the Spinners increased their lead in the Bay State division with a 3-0 win over Ben's Dream White Sox. Blum went five innings, giving up just two hits while striking out six. Kocher came on in relief to finish the job.

Omar Caceres led the offense with three hits, including a double. Ryan Gaffney and Bob Maccioli had two hits apiece. The defense also kept the Sox off the board with two double plays.

Beau Janousek pitched five innings, giving up two runs while striking out one in the losing effort.

The A's scored 4 runs in the 2nd and never looked back, as they defeated the White Sox 5-0 at East Boston Stadium.

The A's scored 4 in the second, capped by RBI's from rookies Tim O'Brien and Hunter Shea. That's all Brett O'Keefe would need on the mound, as he worked 5 shutout innings on the scorching hot turf.

Warren Asdronvuttikrai (aka Buddha's brother) capped a 2 for 3 day at the plate with a homerun in the 5th inning. Alan Donaruma and Nick Barton also went 2 for 3 on the day.

The ageless Jason Kurtz pitched 2 shutout innings for the A's.

Dim lights didn't stop this pitchers duel between Kurtz and Weldon. Weldon prevailed as the Sox, having left a ton of runners on base all night, finally got the 2 out hit they needed to score in the bottom of the 6th. Weldon shut the door in the 7th with the help of a pickoff by Real from behind the dish and then a lineout DP to end it.

It was a family affair for the Red Sox as they got their first win in a 2-0 pitchers duel vs the White Sox. W. Ferdinand got an rbi in first. That's all his son T. An outstanding effort by Victor George lifted the Padres to a 4-3 win in 13 innings over the White Sox on Saturday at South Lawrence East.

Victor George worked out of nine tricky spots for the Padres. He pitched 7 2/3 innings and allowed no earned runs on two hits. Victor George faced his toughest moment in the eleventh inning.

The Padres jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. A single by Polanco, scoring Jose Paulino started the inning off.
The game was back-and-forth heading into the thirteenth, with seven lead changes.

Kenny Polanco came big in the thirteenth inning with the walk-off RBI single off John Heim, bringing home Marcos Reyes.

Julio Gonzalez got the win in relief for the Padres.

Janousek started for the white sox, 7 IP, 2 runs allowed struck out 4. Heim took the loss working 5 2/3 innings, walked one, 4 K's, and allowed one run.
