The Reading Bulldogs grinded out their 8th win of the season Wednesday night, defeating the Melrose Americans 8 runs to 5.
Brian O'Neill earned his 2nd win on the season pitching 5 and a third innings, giving up 3 runs on 7 hits, while striking out six and walking four American batters. Sean O'Neill came on in relief for the Bulldogs and pitched 1 and a third innings, giving up 2 runs on 1 American hit.
Despite giving up just one hit through 4 complete innings, Mike Richardson got the loss for the Americans, pitching 5 and a third innings, giving up 5 runs on 7 Bulldog hits.
The offense came alive for Reading in the fifth inning scoring 3 runs. They would add two more in the 6th and three more in the 7th, capped off by a Mike Taylor 2-run homerun, who was 3-4 on the night.

The Reading Bulldogs won their second straight game Friday night defeating the Melrose Americans 4-3 to earn their 6th win of the season.
Zurief Pajazetovic pitched a complete game earning his first win of the season. Pajazetovic gave up 3 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1.
Mark Fusco took the hill for the Americans and was roughed up early on by the Bulldog offense. Four singles by the Bulldogs led to three runs in the first inning. Darren Hartwell scored on a wild pitch by Fusco, the only unearned run of the game.
Kyle Devin added an RBI single to plate Harry Smoske, and then later Devin later scored in the inning off an RBI single by John Halsey.
Trevor Bouvier would add a solo homerun in the 2nd inning, the Bulldogs 1st homerun of the season.
