The Chiefs stave off elimination by beating the Breakers 4-3 in another nail biter between these 2 evenly matched ball clubs. Steve Lapham continues to battle on the mound working in and out of trouble while on the other side Chris Festa looked great holding the Chiefs to just 7 hits. The Chiefs were able to put the ball in play just enough to cause a bit of havoc.
Chiefs Captain Will Peterman (3-3 2b, R, 2 SB) and fiesty Jim Demichele provided just enough offense to seal the deal.
John O'Brien (3-4, 2B) and Ralph Barone (2-2, BB, HBP) kept the Breakers close right to the end. |

Game one was a pitcher's duel at Cunningham Park in Milton. Winchester's Minsoo Kim and Milton's Scott MacDonald scattered just four hits apiece and traded scoreless innings until the bottom of the tenth, when Brian Laneau delivered a walkoff hit for the Breakers. |

Chiefs bats come alive and Steve Lapham pitches great for win to take the series in 2. Lapham held the hard hitting Cardinals team to only 7 hits just after he recorded the 1.1 inning save from game 1 earlier in the evening.
Peterman and Demichelle have a monster night while Diprisco, Reilly and Lapham each add a couple of hits each to provide the offense.
J. Torres had a couple of hits and Fesh hit a bomb to center for the Cardinals. |

The hard hitting Cardinals outhit the chiefs but fall a bit short in a game that was suspended with 2 out with a man on first in the 8th due to darkness. Continued before game 2, the Chiefs were able to hold on for the game 1 win.
Minsoo Kim (W) Started this one for the Chiefs, While game 2 Starter Steve Lapham (S) gets the save in game 1.
Kirk Sencion, Steve Lapham and Gary Walker with a couple of hits each.
Marco Uggliotti Pitches well for the Cardinals and keeps them in it all the way while Harry Smith, Roman Colon, Ruben Rodriguez and Paul Costa each had 2 hits. |
