A's BEAT REDS 7-1
MOVE TO 9-4 ON YEAR

Despite the long wait, the A's came out strong in their win over the Reds. Jay Lamoureux took home on a second-inning passed ball--complete with a gutsy, head-first slide--to plate the A's second (and ultimately winning) run.

Lamoureux finished the day 2 for 3 with a RBI. Dave Clarke was 2 for 2 with a double and two runs. And the brothers Asdornvuttikrai notched RBI doubles, and Rathapoom ended the day with two hits and three RBI--bringing his season total to a league-leading 14 RBI).

The Reds' Lopez had a nice day at the plate, going 2 for 3 with a run off of the otherwise unhittable George Ziegler, who threw 6 innings of four-hit ball and struck out 5.

The A's play two again next Sunday. And the Reds take on the Orioles Friday night.
