Both teams played hard and the Dodgers came out on top. It was a bunch of fun.

The Spinners closed out the 2014 regular season with a 5-1 win over the Brockton Reds Sunday. Down 1-0 in the fifth, the Spinners rallied for three unanswered runs in the fifth and two more in the sixth. Isaac Valvidiezo singled in the fifth with two runners and scored Armando de Los Santos and Ricky Salvia. Valvidiezo later scored on a Mark Killoren single. In the sixth, Mike Tufo reached base on a walk and Pat Canning singled. Both scored respectively on a de los Santos double and a Salvia sacrifice fly.

Nick Marine went five strong innings, giving up one earned run while striking out five. Dan Blomerth came on in the sixth for two innings of relief. The Spinners now await the conclusion of the BMBL regular season to see who they will face in the first round of the playoffs.

The Spinners completed the weekend sweep Sunday with a 8-3 win over the Dodgers. Jay Gomes was 4 for 4 from the plate, while Isaac Valvidiezo added three hits and scored twice. Dan Blomerth pitched a complete game with six strikeouts.

The Dodgers scored a run in the sixth inning and rallied in the seventh, loading the bases and tacking on two more runs. Mike Sheehan, Brandon Linton and Jeff Hall scored for the Dodgers in the losing effort.

The Spinners guaranteed themselves a winning season with a 9-0 win. Ricky Salvia pitched a complete game shutout, giving up five hits while striking out eight. Greg Megerdichian got the scoring started with a double to spark a five-run fourth inning. Jay Gomes had three hits and scored two runs, while Steve Van Reenan added two hits and scored two runs of his own.

Mike Tufo padded the Spinner lead with a single to start a four-run sixth inning. Joe Tufo drove in two runs to help put the game well out of reach.

A's WALK OFF WITH WIN

Dave Clarke hit a walk-off single with the bases loaded to push across the second--and winning--run for the A's.

The A's scored in the second when Brian Colella doubled home Jay Lamoureux, who had reached on a single.

The Spinners tied it up in the 5th. Megerdichian was hit by a pitch. Cannins then hit a single. De Los Santos then roped a double to center, but was thrown out trying to stretch it into a triple--and the out occurred just before Cannins touched the plate, keeping the score tied.

In the bottom of the 7th, Billig reached on a walk. Asdornvuttikrai then hit a grounder to third, but a throwing error allowed Billig to reach third. Tapper was intentionally walked. And one batter later, Clarke found a hole behind the drawn-in infield to plate the winning run.

Ziegler pitched five strong innings for the A's, followed up by Rosenzweig who notched the win after two perfect innings.

The a Spinners found the win column again with a 3-2 win over the Tigers Friday night. Armando de Los Santos walked and scored on a Omar Caceres single to tie the game. Greg Megerdichian led off the second inning with a triple and later scored on a Pat Canning single. Ricky Salvia drove him in later in the inning!

Dan Blomerth went six solid innings, giving up eight hits and two earned runs while striking out five. Salvia came on in the seventh for the save.

Backed by a complete game shutout by Jose Pena, the Spinners won their fifth game in a row with a 4-0 win. Pena gave up five hits while striking out nine.

Greg Megerdichian was hit by a pitch in the sixth and Armando de los Santos reached on an error in the sixth. Mike Knell drove in both runs on a single. The Spinners added two runs in the seventh by taking advantage of Reds errors.

Seth Perkins had two hits, including a double for the Reds in the losing effort.

The Spinners won their 10th game of the season with a 10-4 victory over the Cutters. Ricky Salvia was "Mr. Everything" Thursday night, scoring two runs and driving in three more. Salvia was also dominant on the mound as well. He went six innings, giving up six hits and one earned run while striking out four. Mark Killoren and Isaac Valvidiezo each drove in two runs.

Alex Andon had three hits and scored a run for the Cutters, while Mike Hicks, Ryan Bere and Matthew Silverman each scored in the losing effort.

The Spinners moved into a tie for first place with a 5-3 win over the Dodgers in Cambridge Saturday night. Dan Blomerth pitched five and a third innings while striking out four. Ricky Salvia drove in a run in the second inning and scored in the fourth to break a 3-3 tie. Joe Tufo drove in an insurance run in the sixth inning. Salvia came on in the sixth inning for the save.

Drew Cumming and Dan Turner each drove in a run for the Dodgers.

The Spinners kept the offense going with a 5-1 win over the Padres, completing the weekend sweep. Nick Marine pitched a complete game, allowing one unearned run on seven hits while striking out three. Mike Knell scored two runs and drove in a third run on a triple in the third inning. Omar Caceres, Ricky Salvia and Armando De Los Santos all scored runs for the Spinners.

Juan Williams and Kenny Polanco each had two hits and Roberto Terrero scored the lone Padres run in the sixth inning.

The Spinners crushed the Padres 16-1 in a Mercy Rule-shortened game Saturday night. Nine Spinners scored at least one run, with Mike Knell leading the way with three runs. Isaac Valvidiezo drove in three runs, while Knell, Ricky Salvia, Joe Tufo and Jay Gomes each drove in two runs.

Jose Pena held the Padres to one run in five innings, while striking out six.

Kenny Polanco had the only hit for the Padres, hitting a solo home run in the fourth inning.

The Spinners found the win column against the Athletics, winning 6-4 in Cambridge Saturday night after back-to-back losses. Nick Marine went five innings, giving up two earned runs on six hits, while striking out two. Jose Pena picked up his first save of the season, pitching two innings.

Armando De Los Santos had two hits and scores twice, with a run in the first and a run in the fourth. Mike Knell and Omar Caceres led off the third inning with and scored. Cambridge added two more runs in the fourth on hits from Pat Canning and De Los Santos.

Rathapoom Asdornvuttikrai led the Athletics on offense with two hits, while Tom McIntyre and Andrew Billig scored runs. Matt Rosenzweig pitched five innings and Jason Kurtz finished the game on the mound, pitching the last two innings.

In an incredible, thrilling finish, the Spinners rallied for three runs in the bottom of the 10th inning for a 4-3 win. Down 3-1, the Spinners took advantage of Cutter errors. Mark Mezzina walked and later scored on a Ricky Salvia double. Armando De Los Santos attempted to score on the double, but was thrown out at home on a controversial call. Salvia later scored on a second throwing error to tie the game. Killoren later scored on a dropped ball for the walk-off win. The Spinners forced extra innings when Dan Caceres scored on an error to tie the game.

Salvia and Isaac Valvidiezo had two hits each and Nick Marine pitched seven innings, giving up one run while striking out three. Salvia pitching three innings in relief for the win.

Thanks to a five run first inning and the strong pitching of Daniel Blomerth and Ricky Salvia, the Spinners extended their winning streak to four with a 8-4 win. Danny Caceres, Isaac Valvidiezo and Steve Van Reenan drove in two runs each. Blomerth pitched five innings, giving up three runs on five hits while striking out four. Salvia finished the job on the mound with two strikeouts.

The Spinners kept their winning streak going with a 7-1 win over the Orioles. Isaac Valvidiezo led the offensive attack two hits and two runs. Ben O'Shea pitched five and third innings, giving up only one run on four hits while striking out five. The Spinners blew the game open in the seventh with a five-run rally with hits from Mike Tufo, Ryan Janedy and Valvidiezo.

Junior Rodriguez scored the only run for the Orioles, with Felix Javier, Brandem Burke Daniel Cooney each getting hits.

The Grays kicked off the 2014 campaign with a 4-2 win over the Spinners in Cambridge Saturday night. Rookie Jared Walsh pitched great going 6 strong striking out 5 and allowing only 1 hit. The Grays were led offensively by Paul Branche(2-3 2 doubles 1 run) and Anthony Montone(2-3 double 2 runs).
