Pitching on just 3 days rest, PJ Gouthro laid it all on the line Friday night. Gouthro tossed all 10 innings of an epic Game 7 that ended in a walk-off bases loaded single by Mat Seropian to take home the 'ship for Palmer.

Gouthro was once again brilliant, scattering just 5 hits and allowing no earned runs on the night to secure a perfect 0.00 ERA over 15 innings pitched in the finals.

TJO pitchers Sam Miller & Dan Long, both also pitching on short rest, combined for a gritty performance as well, matching Gouthro inning for inning until Palmer finally broke thru in the 10th.

Those who watched this series were treated to an instant classic, and one that ended in fitting fashion - an extra inning nail biter that went right down to the wire. Hats off to TJO Sports for a great series.

Williams went the distance for Palmer, scattering just 3 hits and striking out 7 without walking a batter while not allowing a single base runner to reach scoring position all night.

Palmer jumped ahead in the 1st, putting up 4 runs on 4 base knocks to give Williams all the run support he would need on the night. Johnny Phelan lead the offensive attack for Palmer with a 4-hit performance while tacking on an insurance RBI single in the 5th in the process.

Palmer starting pitcher PJ Gouthro (9-0) was once again surgical on the mound, tossing 5 scoreless innings while allowing just 2 hits and striking out 4 over 5 innings to pick up the win.

The much awaited return of The Brother capped off a solid alumni turnout for Palmer Club at Kelly Field on Monday night. A combination of home cooking, alumni support, and another welcome return - a fresh Back in Black helmet game - proved to be a lethal combination for Palmer's offense, as Mat Seropian & Shane Stande took a night off from a busy wedding season to help Palmer look the part for the series finale.

Per usual, Monday Night Special PJ Gouthro (8-0) dealt, going 6 innings, allowing 1 earned run before handing things over to Brendan Telfer in the 7th. Telfer was impressive, striking out the side to vault Palmer past the defending champs and into the Park League finals for a second consecutive year.

Palmer's 1-5 hitters flat out raked Monday night, going 13-19 with 10 RBIs, capped off by a majestic grand slam that landed 4 steps up into the Mecca by Frank Alexopoulos (3-4, 5 RBI) that sealed the deal in the 6th.

To steal a line from Al Michaels, "Do you believe in miracles!?" Matt Seropian, of Brockton infamy, makes the write up two nights in a row. The miracle? He wasn't even at Fallon Field for game 2. The starting right fielder decided to bring Palmer's batting helmets to a wedding in CT instead of leaving them with a teammate so Palmer was down to a mixed bag of lids. Luckily, Palmer had Eric Williams on the hill and he was dominant through six innings to earn the victory. Tony Trafecanty struck out the side in the 7th to secure the victory. Dave Volante pitched well giving up 3 runs before Palmer busted the game open in the 7th inning. Johnny Phelan led Palmer offensively with multi-RBI hits hroughout the game, about time.

It was Throwback Thursday in the BPL playoff series opener as two veteran toes the rubber for both teams. Steve Hueston pitched a great game for Cannon giving up two runs in the 1st inning and shut down Palmer the rest of the night. Hueston was outdeuled by Kenny "All-State" Henry giving up 1 run for the complete game win. Henry almost had a CG shut out but Palmer's half witted right fielder "dove(?)" for a line drive in the second that looked more like a belly flop from a sumo wrestler into the shallow end of a kiddy pool. The line drive went from a single to a triple with the right fielder's terrible decision and Cannon turned it into their own run of the night. Game 2 takes place at Fallon Field Friday night at 7:45, get your popcorn ready.

Down 5 zip in the 5th, Grossman battles back scoring three on a bases clearing opposite field wall ball double by Andrew Tenaglia before scoring three more in the 6th on RBI's by Tim Reinhardt and Nick Crivello.

Ken Henry had retired the first eight in order for Palmer before Tom Wells got the first Grossman hit in the third. But the Grossman bats remained quiet until the 5th.

After giving up five runs on five hits in the second, Mike Thater cruised through the 6th before giving way to Joe McNamara in the 7th.
Johnny Phelan led off the bottom of the 7th with a line drive single but Tenaglia made a nifty stop on a hard ground ball to start a double play ending the threat.

JP Songin had two hits for Palmer.

It was a battle between bitter, well coached (and dressed) rivals. With both Joe Lucier (Palmer) and Tom Ryan (Towne) dealing throughout the game, runs were tough to come by in the first 4 1/2 innings until Palmer had a 2-out rally capped off by a Brian Medairos missile to right field. Ryan was pulled after an approximately 15 minute rain delay and Palmer took advantage, scoring 3 times. One of those runs came on a screamer of a line drive triple off the bat of Jim Pierce as Johnny Phelan sluggishly came in from second. Lucier went the distance, allowing no runs on 6 hits with 4 strikeouts.

Johnny Phelan out, enter Akihiko Nakamura. Nakamura had a career night, reaching base in all four plate appearances (2-4) either by hit or error. Nakamura busted the game open with after an impressive battle to work the count full with two outs in the second inning and a runners on 2nd and 3rd. Nakamura took a fastball from the Padres pitcher and laced a single to left field scoring both runners. Nakamura, who hails from Adachi-ku, Tokyo, Japan, received the first game ball ever given to a player in the history of Palmer Club baseball.
Palmer received outstanding pitching from both Eric Williams and Brendan Telfair. Willaims went 5 innings, allowing no runs and striking out 9. Brendan Telfair (Roger Williams University) came in the shut the door in the last two innings, striking out 3 of 6 batters faced. The two flamethrowers scattered 5 hits throughout the game as they kept Padres' batters off balance all night.

Cannon gets on the board in the first with consecutive singles by Neshe, Newton, and Colon and Allen hits the sac fly rbi. A walk and big triple by Jain plates the second run who is then driven in by flannerys sac fly in the second.

Willie Allen smokes a line drive down the left field line in the fifth for a 2 run hr and that was more than enough for Campion.

Songin was swinging well all night with 2 hits, one that was an easy HR but went under the fence in RF at the stadium for a ground rule double in the second, but the bats couldn't bring him in.

Simas comes in the seventh and strikes out the side looking to close the game.

It was friends and family night for the Padres Club at Cleveland Circle as fans packed the backstop to support their squad for a game that turned out to be a borderline ESPN Insta-classic. With the umpires having a zone similar to wackamole, both offenses were stymied for much of the game. Palmer Club finally broke out late in the game after getting all riled up by an absolute bomb which turned into a two-run triple by Jim Pierce to where the beer-league softball pitchers toe the rubber. Brendan Telfer (Roger Williams University) came in to shut the door in the 7th as Eric Williams earns the win in a stellar night keeping the Padres off balance all night.

Palmer bats come alive again tonight against the young TJO Sports Club belting 10 hits throughout the game. The game was close as TJO worked out of early jams with good defense but it was not enough to stop the likes of first baseman Joe Hock (2-3, 2B, 1 RBI) and center fielder Chris Curran (2-3, 3 runs, 2 SB). Palmer shortstop, Johnny Phelan, had an adventurous night as he busted open the game in the top of the 5th inning as he blooped a real puss shot down the left field line with 2 outs. Phelan almost opened the flood gates for TJO in the 6th as he didn't know which way was up when he booted a routine double play ball but MOrgan Williams bailed him out by pitching out of the self-inflicted jam. Williams pitched 6 innings with 9 K's, 2 walks, and 2 runs (1 ER). Big Bro Eric Williams pitches for Palmer on Friday, free admission at Cleveland Circle if you show up before 7:45 p.m.

Joey Lucier (6 IP, 3 ER, 3 K's, 4 hits) finally received run support and got the win for Palmer in a battle of top seeded Boston Park League teams. Palmer busted out the bats last night as 7 different guys had hits, including Chris Curran (3-4, HR and 2 RBI's) and Johnny Phelan both having multi-hit games. Palmer player/coach JP Songin bending the mind of opposing Towne Club coach Harvey Soolman into a proverbial pretzel by adjusting pre-game (agreed upon by both coaches) ground rules that allowed Curran to hit his first ever homerun in the Boston Park League. The ball was presented to Chris for his greatest baseball achievement after accomplishing the feat.

Dave Volante had a 2 hitter through six and almost saw it go to waste as Cannon decided in the seventh to let Palmer make it close.

Cannon gets on the board first when Flannery reaches on an error to start the game and later scores on a WP. Newton drives in the second run with a double in the 3rd. Colon starts the 4th with a double and is driven home by Suriel. And then the fun begins...

Hueston comes in the 7th and walks Curran. Buckner boots Songins dribbler to make it first and third. Alexopolous bloops a ball to left that is misplayed to score Curran. With second and third, Stande grounds to Newton who alertly gets the runner going to third, but the second run scores. Next batter K's. Hock then hits a ball that tips off both Huestons glove and Newtons. With runners on 2nd and 3rd two out, Lipsett K's to end the game.

Towne Club won its 11th of 12 games and drew even with first place Palmer in the standings with a come from behind win on Steven Gilbert's two-out RBI single up the middle in the bottom of the seventh. Dana Dresser got the winning rally started with his second base hit of the night; then Grant Bowen drove a deep double to left-center to score Dresser from first and tie the game. Ryan Rizzo pinch-ran for Bowen and stole third. He was later forced at the plate, but Tim Corey rode home on Gilbert's base hit.

Eric Williams had held Towne to three hits and no walks over the first six, and the only threat Towne had was when they knotted the score in the 4th on Alex Venditti's double and Dresser's RBI single.

Mike Stefaniak went the first 6 1/3 for Towne, allowing only six hits and two unearned runs. Connor Farrell picked up the win by getting the final out in the top of the 7th with two runners aboard.

Kyle Ritchie started the night off on the hill for Palmer, pitching 3 hit-less innings and allowing no earned runs to pick up the win. Godfrey and Telfer looked sharp in their Park League debuts on the bump, throwing scoreless 4th and 7th innings respectively.

Palmer's bats woke up after a quiet start to the week. The 2 thru 5 slots in the lineup racked up 5-hits (4 for extra bases) and 8 RBIs on the night, capped off by a 2-run scud missile off the bat of Frank Alexopoulos in the top of the 5th that got over the right field wall in a hurry. Cannon knocks the first place team down a peg with a solid pitching performance from Grady Campion who carried a no hitter into the 7th. A scorching rbi single by Newton and a big 2 run double by Allen in the first was all the run support Campion needed.

Palmer attempts to threaten in the 6th with the bases loaded but can't push across a run and leaves a doughnut on the board. Lipsett breaks up the no hitter in the 7th with a leadoff single and Phelan follows up with the last hit of the night for Palmer. A 2 out Cannon error ends the shutout, plating Lipsett.
