Somerville defeats Revere 4 games to 1 to win the 2013 YBL Championship.

Rey throws 6 strong only giving up 2 hits, and Tanguy came on for the save.

Offensively Rogers double put Alibranids up 2-0 in the 5th and insurance run was added after singles by Rogers and DesRoches. Gillis with 2 hits and big base running.

Rey and Tanguy named Finals MVP for their efforts combined of 17.1 innings pitched, 3 Wins and 2 saves, 6 hits against, 18K's and 0 Runs. Rogers also highly in consideration with 15 RBI this postseason and all big hits.

Somerville would like to send congrats to Revere on a tremendous year. Somerville would also like to thank Tony, David, Mike, the board, and the players that make up the YBL! And of course the ladies in our lives for the continued support!

40-4 is something special. Best baseball team in the history of YBL. Something no one can take away from you boys! You have earned it!

Rich Wlodarczyk picks up the complete game win for the Rockies, allowing only 2 hits and striking out 4. Woody would not allow a hit in the last 5 innings.

Chris Hartery put the Rocks on the board in the first with a 2R HR to left. In the 4th, Tony Iafolla led off with a single and scored on a Nate Laliberte's FC to put the Rocks up 3-0 through 4.

Sullivan throws first 3.2 innings and Tanguy throws the next 3.1 to earn the win.

Offensively Somerville had one of their best nights of the year. 18 hits including 4 from DesRoches, 3 from Gillis and Crisafulli. Huge HR by Cunningham. In tonight's lineup, Somervilles 6-9 went a collective 11 for 17 with 2 doubles, a HR, 4 RBI and 7 Runs scored.

Defensively the infield bounced around with 11 assists and a great play by Rogers.

Offensively Somerville breaks game wide open in the 4th with 6 runs including a bases clearing triple by Rogers.

1-9 chipped in tonight either being heads up on the bases or making plays in the field.

Great baseball game to start the finals.

Rey and Sandini go head to head. Rey allowing only 1 hit in 6 innings and Tanguy throwing the last inning for the save. Sandini throwing all 7 giving up only four hits for Revere.

Rogers breaks game open in first inning with an RBI double and Barrett plating the second run.

Alex Wong picks up the win allowing 3 hits in 5in of work, John Young gets the save.

Rockies would get on the board in the first on Chris Hartery's HR to CF. Stoneham would answer in their half of the inning and each team would swap runs over the next 3 frames.

In the 5th Hartery would lead off with a single and he would score on Tony Iafolla's triple to center. Nate Laliberte knocks in TI to put the Rocks up 4-2 thru 5.

Rockies add 3 more runs in the top of the 6th on 4 hits and it would hold up as the Rockies sweep the Sabres in the best of 5 series to make their first trip ever to the YBL Finals.

Congrats to Stoneham on a successful season.

Alex Torres picks up the win in relief.

Rockies come back from 5-1 with 3 runs in the 6th and tie the game in the 7th off of Stoneham reliever Rob McDonald.

Both teams had chances in extras but it wasnt until the 11th, w 2 outs and Hartery on 2nd, the Rockies would rally. Kyle Rufo and Adam Del Rio both worked walks to load the bases for Mike Roberts. Roberts would stroke the 2-0 pitch off the wall in left for the 2nd walk-off win in as many games for the Rockies.

Mike Roberts followed with a single to right and Kyle Rufo would reach base on a HBP to load the bases for Aj Bucciarelli. Bucciarelli would see only 1 pitch, grounding it hard to short and Oggeri scores on the error for the walk-off win.

Rockies scored 5 runs in the 3rd on 3 SB errors. That is all Sandini would need as he scattered 5 hits and the defense played well behind him.

Adam Del Rio picks up the complete game win, allowing 4 hits and retiring 10 in a row at one point.

Rockies offense got on the board in the first. With bases loaded and 0 outs, Chris Santosuosso would score Wong on a sac-fly to right. Cahill would retire Del Rio on a strike out, then wal Iafolla and with 2 outs and bases loaded, Nate Laliberte came through again with a single to right center to score 2. In the bottom of the 2nd, the Rockies would rally with 2 outs, ending with Swaz knocking an RBI single to score Pete Oggeri.

South Boston pushed 2 across in the 6th on a Graham 2 out double, but Del Rio would retire the next batter and wrap up the game with a 1-2-3 7th inning.

Chris Sandini for the Rockies & Dylan Joyce for the Saints squared off in Game 1 of the Playoffs. Sandini went 6in, allowing 1 run on 3 hits, striking out 9. Joyce pitched 7in, allowed 3 hits as well and 0 earned runs.
In the 4th the Saints got on the board thanks to 3 straight walks and they threatened in the 5th with a runner on 3rd w 1 out, but Sandini enduced a groundball to 2nd for the 2nd out and then struck out the next batter to end the inning.
Kyle Rufo led off the 6th for the Rocks with a single to right then Aj Bucciarelli laid down the sacrifice bunt moving pinch runner Roberts to 2nd. Roberts would end up scoring on an error to the tie the game. In the 7th, Santosuosso reached base on an error, moved to 2nd on a pass ball and Del Rio moved Swaz over to 3rd on a ground out to 2b. Iafolla was intentionally walked to set the stage for Nate Laliberte. Lali would rip a single for the walk off win.

Chris Santosuosso would then move Hartery to 3rd and set the stage for Pete Oggeri. With the infield in, Pete would line a single up the middle, scoring Hartery for the GWRBI, his 2nd GWRBI in as many games.

Minutemen carried a 3-1 lead into the 6th when the Rockies bats would finally wake up.

Wong would lead off with a double, Santosuosso worked a walk and Adam Del Rio stroked a double to left center to cut the deficit to 1. With the infield in, Pete Oggeri lined a single to left scoring Del Rio and Santosuosso to put the Rocks up 4-3, a lead that Rich Wlodarczyk did not relinquish, picking up the win in relief, retiring all 8 batters he faced, striking out 3 in relief of starter Matt Magazine.

EAST BOSTON, MA..The Knights hosted the Revere Rockies at East Boston Stadium sending Sean Perkins to the bump to face off against Adam Del Rio. Both pitchers pitched well thru the first 3 frames before the offense caught up. Leading 1 - 0 in the 4th inning the Knights plated 4 runs capped by a mammoth triple by Ben McBride, who got throw out at the plate to end the inning trying to stretch the triple into a homerun, to take a 5 - 0 lead. The Rockies would not go away scoring 4 runs of their own in the top of the 5th. Perkins struggled loading the bases and giving way to fire baller Shawn Carlson. Carlson walked in 2 runs but quickly settled down retiring the next 3 batters to get out of a bases loaded jam with no outs to preserve the 1 run lead. Corey Laliberte came on in the 7th and retired the top of the Rockies order 1-2-3 for the save. Knights win 5 - 4.

Braves make it 9 in a row! Lankarge again goes all 7 scattering 8 hits, 4 K's & limiting the powerful Rockies offense to 2 ER. Robb was left hitless to end his streak at 14 while Smith laced a rocket line drive to center in the 6th to extend his to 10.

Rockies score 1 in 1st & 2nd on RBI singles by Santosuosso & Moran. Braves answer in the 2nd on a Cashman double followed by RBI singles by Kerbin, Risk and Lee. Braves get some insurance in the 7th on 2 HBPs, BB, Sac Fly and a Rockies throwing error. Rockies make things interesting in the 7th, after a line-out and a Braves throwing error, get consecutive hits, scoring a run & loading the bases. Lankarge induces a grounder up the middle, handled by Lee for the game ending double play.

Swaz (2 RBI) & DelRio led the Rockies offense with 2 hits each. Rockies pitching combine for 8 Ks on the night.

Braves get a much needed 2 day rest before taking on the streaking Saints on Thursday

Chris Dion goes the distance and the Sabers edge the Rockies 2-1 in a pitchers duel at Chelsea HS

The Sabers got on the board early. Stefan Botarelli would lead off with a walk and Ryan Flanagan and Mike Robinson would hit singles each. Travis Adams would score Botarelli on a sacrifice fly and Angelo Colucci would hit a sacrifice fly of his own to score Flanagan on what would end up being the game winning run.

Dion pitched 7 strong innings, allowing only 3 hits, on 1 earned, while striking out 5 Rockies, to earn his 6th win of the season.

Rich Wlodarczyk got the tough luck loss. Wlodarczyk went the distance allowing 5 hits, 2 earned and struck out 6 Sabers.

Wong hit a RBI single in the 4th to score Rodriguez for the Rockies only run.

Botarelli was sharp at shortstop all night and Robinson had a multi-hit game for Stoneham.

Chris Sandini for the Rockies and Anthony Del Prete for Somerville took the bump for their respective teams last night and both did not disappoint.

Sandini threw 7in of 3 hit ball while striking out 9. Del Prete would go 9in, give up 6 hits and strike out 6.

In the bottom of the 10th and Lamarre Rey in the game for Somerville, Gary Moran would reach base on an error and Luis Rodriguez would lay down the successful sacrifice bunt. Chris Santosuosso would step up and deliver the game winning hit to right, scoring Moran for the Rockies 2nd walk-off win in as many games.

Alex Torres worked the 9th and 10th innings for the Rocks and pick up the win.

A's would jump up to 3-0 lead after 2in. Doyle was dealing through 5 and kept the Rockies bats silent allowing 1 hit thru 5, but the Rockies would breakthrough with a run in the 6th. Clang would relieve Doyle in the 7th and was greeted by a leadoff double from Iafolla. Glavin then followed with a walk and Laliberte would lay down the sacrifice bunt to move runners to 2nd and 3rd.
