JM Force of Hyde Park 8, Boston Bombers 6
Force win NL in first year and continue their championship run from last year. After getting up 8-2, a very good Bombers team battled back and made it very interesting by scoring 4 in the bottom of 6th. Force was able to contain the powerful Bombers by bringing in last nights winning pitcher, Darwin Mesa for the save. Kudos to both teams for putting together 2 great teams and one great series. |

Quinn Ryan was perfect through 3 1/3 and finished allowing only 3-hits through 6 innings. Woody pitches a 1-2-3 7th for the save. Solid defense led by Mitrou, Tracy and Laliberte was a huge factor in the win. Gary Moran laces a double down the right field line and notches the GWRBI. Kevin Spitz collects 2 more hits.
Lefties Chris Allen and Joe Perna pitched very well for the Cantabs. A tip of the cap to manager Matt Englander and the entire Cambridge team on a great series; a roster full of gentlemen who truly respect the game. |

Cambridge Cantabs 2, Revere Rockies 1
After having a front row seat to the Rockies walk-off win in Game 1 of the series, the Cantabs put up a walk-off victory of their own when Chris Allen barely pushed through a single to right that scored Nate Knowles with the winning run.
In Game 1, the story was all about pitching with Rich Wlodarczyk (Rockies) and Joe Perna (Cantabs) both spinning absolute gems. The same was true last night, with Mike McCarthy (Rockies) and Matt Coyne (Cantabs) matching each other frame by frame.
Good luck to both teams in the series finale tomorrow night. |

Revere Rockies 1, Cambridge Cantabs 0
Rich Wlodarczyk (CG, 9K, 4 hits) and Joe Perna (6.2, 9K, 5 hits) lock horns in a classic pitcher's duel. In the 7th with 2 out, Dave Mitrou works a walk, Ted Tracy kept the inning alive lining a single to center setting the stage for Kevin Spitz to win it for the Rockies with a walk-off blast to the fence.
Solid defense was key for the Rockies with Laliberte, Corson and Tracy each making stellar plays behind Woody.
For the Cantabs, Rausch was a pest all night tallying a hit, HBP and stolen base. |
