The Grays get back on track after losing a double header Sunday in Scituate, MA. Rookie Eddie Rosario pitched 6 strong, striking out 7 Dodgers in his 1st MABL victory.

The Dodgers struck first in the 1st putting up a run. The Grays would answer back with 3 runs of their own. The Dodgers were stunned but not down & out. They answered back with 3 of their own runs in the top of the 2nd. The Grays tied the game in bottom of the 2nd at 4-4 on a Steve Baldassari (3-4 HR, 2RBI, 2R, SB) HR to right field. The Grays added 2 more runs in the 3rd. The Dodgers made it a one-run game in the 5th plating one. The Grays tagged on an insurance run in the 7th before Baldassari came on in the 7th to pick up his first save of the season.

The Dodgers finished their first year in the MABL with a respectable 11-13 record falling just short of a playoff birth.

The Grays play their last game of the regular season on Friday night in Chelsea, MA at 8pm.

The Brewers clinched a playoff spot with a 9-6, 12-inning marathon win over the Dodgers. Ryan Sherlock pitched strong in eight innings of relief. John Maryanski's triple started a three run inning to break a 6-6 tie, scoring Dan Riordan and Steve Van Reenan. Maryanski scored on a Paul Bracco sacrifice fly. Steve Vanreenen had a career day with 5 hits.

A's TOP DODGERS

Angelo Guisado improved to 8-2 on the year with a shutout victory over the Dodgers. He struck out 5, walked none, and yielded just four hits.

All the action on offense came in the fourth. Vetter legged out a double and was plated by a Billig rip down the line. Billig, who finished 2-3, later scored on a Fudeman single down the line. And Krall singled in Wilde, who had reached on a walk.

The A's next face off against the Red Sox Monday night. And the Dodgers play the Brewers Sunday morning.

Jays Win. Shortle tosses a complete game letting up only 1 earned run while striking out 8. The Jays as a team hit for the cycle. The offense was sparked by a 1st inning 2-run Homer courtesy of Ryan Gagne(2-3). Norton and Bere were both perfect at the dish going 2-2 each.

The Tigers visited the Dodgers in Newton on Sunday for one hell of a baseball game.
Both teams had their ups and their downs during a few dramatic innings but in the end, the Dodgers emerged victorious.
The Tigers won the season series, beating the Dodgers twice back in April and May.

The Dodgers and Padres met on a splendid summer evening last Friday.
In a tight game, the Dodgers were able to push four runs across in the fourth inning after a series of odd events and pair of two-out singles.
The Padres weren't able to get much going offensively as only two men reached second base all night.
These teams meet again in a couple of weeks for a Sunday morning double header.

Spinners early morning struggles continued this Sunday. J.Hall and the Dodgers were wide awake while the Spinners bats were sound asleep.

Making his first start, Mattina sailed through 3 innings then ran into trouble as the dodgers hit the ball hard, knocking in 4 runs. Doerr pitched a scoreless 5th and Lippi did the same in the 6th. The Dodgers J.Hall pitched 6 strong giving up 1 hit before giving way to the pen. As noon hit and the 7th inning began the Spinners were ready to wake up. D.Caceres started the rally with a single and the Spinners would score 9 runs led by the Caceres bros and Killeran.

In the bottom 9 the Dodgers would strike back scoring 4 more. With 2 outs and the tying run at 3rd Lippi would get a ground ball and a win for the Spinners.

The Spinners traveled to Newton Sunday morning for a division game against the Dodgers.

Dan Wilson took the mound for the Spinners looking to continue the teams stellar pitching. Wilson pitched well to pick up his 3rd win of the season. He would fan 7 and take a no hitter into the 5th after allowing the only hit of the game.

Spinners scored first in the 2nd inning plating 3 runs. In the 5th De Los Santos would double, steal 3rd and take home on a ground ball out to first. Spinners would tack on 4 more in the 7th behind M.Tufo (2 doubles, RBI) and Killeran ( 2-3, double, 3 RBI).

The heat wave continued and so would the Grays' winning ways.

The Dodgers struck first in this hard fought divisional matchup putting up 3 runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning. They would hold that lead until the top of the 5th.

In the top of the 5th inning, the Grays bats erupted. Jason Banks started off the rally with a two out single to LF. Bill Riggieri followed with a single to LF of his own. Tim Zubak then drew a walk. Enters the sandman...A.K.A. Anthony Montone. Tony Montone pounded a bases clearing double to the left/center field gap. Rob Prenovitz and Abel Aguerdas drew back to back walks and loaded the bases once again. Steve Baldassari then smashed a triple (also to left/center field) giving the Grays the 6-3 lead. They never looked back and went on to win by that very score.

After waiting for nearly a month to play at Morelli, the Brewers took advantage and jumped out to an early and dominating lead. B.J. Neil doubled and scored in the first and drove in another in the second. Dan Riordan drove in two runs and Isaac Valdiviezo drove in another. Andy Scocca pitched six shutout innings, striking out five.

The Grays come out on top in a good matchup with the Dodgers.

Tim Zubak (2-4, 2B 2RBI, R), Matt Ferro (2-3 RBI, BB, R), Paul Branche (2-4 RBI, R) and Tom Plumitallo (1-2 2RBI, 1R, 2BB) did the bulk of the damage for the Grays.

In addition to having a solid day at the plate, Tom Plumitallo also picked up the win on the mound throwing a CG.

Dan Turner (2-2, 2RBI) and Drew Cumming (2-4, R) had quality games for the Dodgers.

The Athletics and Dodgers met for a Sunday morning affair in lovely Cleveland Circle. All the scoring happened early in this one with the A's plating two runs in the first and the Dodgers answering with two in the second. The Dodgers scored their third run in the third and never relinquished the lead. The game was full of exceptional defense from both squads, highlighted by a play at the plate in the seventh in which the A's would be tying run was tagged out just before sliding home. These teams meet again in late August.

The Dodgers visited the Orioles in Acton for a hot Sunday afternoon contest. The Dodgers struck early in this one, sending ten men to the plate in the second inning to open up a 6-0 lead. They would stretch it even further adding 8 more runs over the final five frames. The Orioles' offense had a tough go of it at the plate as they got only two men as far as second base through the first 6 innings.
These teams will square off again in mid July when the O's visit the Dodgers in Newton.

Dodgers catcher Rudy Hersh hit a clutch bases loaded double in the second to lead the Dodgers to a 5-3 victory over the Cutters in Roslindale in this Sunday afternoon matchup. Hersh also made two key putouts from behind the dish on defense, gunning down runners in the 1st and 3rd innings to stifle Cutters rallies. The Cutters were knocking on the door all day but Dodgers pitcher Wes Sherril pitched his way out of several jams and held the Sox at bay to claim the victory. Dodgers rookie second baseman Johnny Casiano sealed the victory for the Dodgers with a jaw-dropping defensive web gem in the top of the sixth, ranging up the middle to snag what looked like it would be the game-tying hit by the Sox, and tossing to SS Ahmed for the out. Casiano follow that play up with a clutch single in the bottom of the sixth, driving in Torres for a key insurance run, putting the Sox on top for good. The Sox pitching silenced Dodger bats in the early evening Hyde Park matchup. The Sox plated 3 runs in the first inning including 2 on a critical Dodgers error. The Dodgers pitching limited the Sox to one more run the rest of the way but the Dodgers bats could not wake up to make up the difference from the first inning.

Tigers come from behind with a 8 run 3rd to win a barn burner against the Dodgers Saturday nite. Rookie Moises Griffin struggled early with his command and the Dodgers used some aggressive base running to jump out to an early 4-0 lead. The Tigers batted around in the 3rd, scoring 8 runs with RBI hits coming from rookie Matt Gioia (1-2, 2 R, 2 RBI), Chad Griffiths (2-3, RBI), Dustin Brassard (3-4, 2 RBI), Erick Artiles, and a smoking red hot Mikey Mariconda (3-4, RBI). The Dodgers scored runs in the 4th and 5th as they continued to take advantage of Griffin's command issues and good base running keeping the game close. The Tigers scored what turned out to be the GW run in the 4th on a Dan Field double to left and scored on Brassard double to the right center. Rookie Bo Belt came on in relief in the 5th to get out of a bases load jam and pitched the final 2 innings to earn his first career MABL save.

The Spinners home opener saw D.Blomerth against J.Hall of the Dodgers.

The Spinners scored first on a Knell sac fly (2 rbis). In the 3rd they put up 2 more on a heads up double steal by De Los Santos and a Knell base hit.

Spinners would plate 2 more runs in the 5th on a bases loaded walk and a single by O.Caceres.

Blomerth gave the Spinners 4 scoreless innings, pitching out of multiple jams. He gave way to the bullpen in the 5th. JM Doerr made his return to the mound after injuring his shoulder in 2008 with the Spinners. After a scoreless 5th the Dodgers would cut the lead to 2 in the 6th following a series of odd events. 1 hit batter, 2 hit runners and 2 errors later the Dodgers would plate 2 runs and load the bases with 0 outs. Rookie closer Steve Mattina entered the game striking out 2 and making a circus play on the mound to get out of the inning, giving up only 1.

2-0 Grays and Spinners will face off Sat.

A new look veteran Tigers team kicked off the start of the 2013 MABL season Friday nite under the lights at Chelsea with a 6-1 win over a talented expansion team Dodgers. Wlodarczyk (CGW, 2H, ER, 9 K's) picked up his second career Tiger's opening day W with an impressive outing, scattering 9 K's and 2 hits, and missing a SO in the 7th on a inside the park HR.

The Tigers got on the board in the 4th, when Pete Allain (2-3, RBI) scored on a PB after he singled and moved into scoring position on a SB and SAC bunt. Matt Gioia's (2-3, R, RBI) first MABL career hit gave the Tigers a 2-0 lead and Rich W. all the run support he would need for the night. The Tigers added to their lead in the 5th and 6th, capped with an RBI double from Mikey Mariconda (2-4, RBI) and Josue Feliciano (2-4, RBI) in his first game as a Tiger since 2008.
