Stoneham Sabers 3, Savin Hill Hornets 3

 Summary | Box Score
Final 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 R H E
Stoneham Sabers 2 0 1 0 0 0 x 3 6 2
Savin Hill Hornets 0 0 0 0 3 0 x 3 4 2

It was a game of waves. Stoneham took advantage of a couple of 1st inning errors to jump to a 2-0 lead and added another run in the 3rd. It looked like that was enough as starting pitcher Justin Dietz was mowing Hornet batters down, allowing just 2 hits and 2 walks while striking out 7 throughout the first 4 innings. However, in the 5th, a lead-off error and a walk gave Savin Hill some life.

In an attempt to snuff out that life Stoneham turn to their ace, Sam Cummings. After a inducing a strikeout and a soft liner to shorta wild pitch increased the stakes by moving both runners up, then Freddi Carrera lined a two-run single to right-center. On the next pitch Nate Hodor rocketed a double to score Carrera and just like that the game was tied.

In the top of the 7th, the Sabers had plated one run already and were threatening for more with runners on 2nd and 3rd and nobody out when the biggest wave of the night hit.

Rain! Lots!
