Waltham advances to the finals for the 3rd year in a row behind a complete game by Barry Foster. Offense was led by Flutie and Locke 2 hits,2b and 2 rbis each, and Lebrun with 3 hits and 2 rbis. Leclair, Vallerand, and Mountain also had 2 hits each. Acton battled to the end as they loaded the bases in the 7th and brought the tying run to the plate.

The Orioles defeated the Braves in game 2 of the series. Charlie Tinschert went the distance for the win. Rick Hoffman had a three-run homer and a single to lead the O's offense. Locke and Grassia each had two hits for the Braves. Game 3 Monday night in Acton.

Wild game in Billerica as Braves hang on to win 13-10 in 9 innings in the series opener. Offense was led by Leclair with 2 hits, and Hannon with 3 hits including a homer. Clutch hit off the bench by Marty Kiely,and Foster with a long single. Several lead changes with Acton threatening to win it in both the 7th and 8th but Franz Strassmann worked out of the jams. Acton also rallied in the 9th but fell a bit short. Game 2 Friday night

Nothing new when these 2 teams meet! Good game on both sides with Dennis Doble on the hill relieved by R. Stephensen(8k) who pitched very well handling a very good O's offense in a 2 - 1 contest thru 5 innings. John DeCosta pitched well for the O's although the Sox offense timing with a few key hits in the 5th tack on and come out on top. Good game on both sides!

Larry Shade went 5 innings for the win, as the O's went up early. Rick Hoffman, Jedd Webber, and Jeff Poretto doubled in runs to lead a deep offensive attack. Dave Rutyna and Dennis Fontecchio finished up on the hill.

Great battle! Several lead changes in this game with many clutch hits and defensive plays on both sides. Steve Capozzi held on vs John DeCosta in an exciting game to watch to the end! The O's 15 hit offensive attack kept it close up to the 7th with the go ahead runners on base.......Russ Ward had 3 RBI and Matt Petruzzo with 2 giving the Sox the edge.

John DeCosta pitched a complete game as the O's defeated the Sea Dogs on a damp night at A-B High School field. Steve Pratt led the offense with run-scoring single in the first and a two-run double in the 6th. Mitchell went the distance for the Sea Dogs, who played gamely with 8 players.
