The MetroSox win their 6th championship. The final game featured a pitchers dual, K. Curtin vs B. Foster, both pitched very well going the distance in a 2-1 game. The Sox Russ Ward and Scott Ellis turn a key double play, bases loaded no outs in the 3rd keeping the Braves from scoring in the inning. Both teams played fine defense behind their pitcher but, the Sox squeeze a run out to break the 5th inning tie. Credit a very good all around Braves team reaching the finals for the third consecutive year.

Unbelievable finish! The Chiefs jump out to an early lead and hold that behind a great pitching performance by the Chiefs Jeff Roach and Kevin Curtin for the Sox. Down 3 runs with 6 outs left the Sox rally on hits from Ward & Moise SAC fly in the 6th. Then, Kimble & Bessette in the 7th when Rob Stephenson hits the walk-off 2 run HR, Sox return to the finals...give credit to the Chiefs, a top tier talented and competitive team in every way!

Waltham Braves 2 0 0 1 0 0 1 0 0 0 x 4 6 2

An 11-inning regular season classic on a perfect night for baseball. Outstanding pitching for both teams, with Capozzi versus Strassman at the start and Stephenson versus Vallerand at the end. Stephenson goes the last 7, striking out 5, to earn his second win of the week. Ward, Petruzzo, and Radabaugh had key hits for the Sox, and Strassman put one into the gap for the Braves. The game had other memorable features, including litigation (a game protest that was retracted after a brief umpire powwow) and mystery (who shot Petruzzo coming around third?).

Nothing new when these 2 teams meet! Good game on both sides with Dennis Doble on the hill relieved by R. Stephensen(8k) who pitched very well handling a very good O's offense in a 2 - 1 contest thru 5 innings. John DeCosta pitched well for the O's although the Sox offense timing with a few key hits in the 5th tack on and come out on top. Good game on both sides!

Great game back and forth. Watson quiets Monarch bats long enough to allow Sox bats to come to the rescue in the 7th and 8th. For the Monarchs, Geraci had one of his typical gutsy performances on the mound and at the plate.

Great game with the skies threatening overhead! The starting pitchers holding off the offenses on both sides, Watson vs Stanton and relievers Capozzi vs Juden all getting it done until the 5th inning where the Sox scored the only run in this contest on an RBI infield hit from Pete Nicolo. Both the Sox and Brewers defense turned in some nice plays in key situations too !
