 Summary | Box Score
Final 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 R H E

Grays 1 6 3 1 1 0 x 12 9 3

With 1 out & a man on 2B (Gardner), the White Sox looked to strike first in the top of the 1st. Omar Ortiz hit what looked to be an RBI single up the middle into CF but Steve Baldassari proceeded to throw out T.J. Gardner at home. After tagging out Gardner at the plate, Tad Beagley gunned down Ortiz who attempted to move to 2B on the throw home for the inning ending, tone-setting, double play.

The Grays scored 1R in the bottom of the 1st but saw the Sox answer back with 2R of their own in the top of the 2nd. The Grays found themselves down 2-1 early on. Rather than fold, they responded in mighty fashion scoring 6R in the bottom of the 2nd. The Grays added 3 more runs on in the bottom of the 3rd giving them a 10-2 lead.

Each team scored 1R in the 4th. The Sox scored 2 in the 6th & mustered up 1R in the 7th but the Grays held off the Sox surge & finished off a great season w/a W & the franchises 1st Championship!

MABL classic. Ruiz gets the 8 innings cg win over Riggieri, who also pitched a huge game. White Sox and Grays both got cheap ones early, but it was all pitching and defense after that. Sox missed an opportunity in the bottom of the 7th but found a way in the bottom of the 8th. With 2 out and 1st and 3rd, Ortiz drove in Morales for the game winner on a ground ball between SS and 3B that went off the glove of a diving Mike Gulinello. Game 5 on deck.

Steve Baldassari delivered a gutsy performance for the Grays pitching a CG and scattering 7 hits across 7 innings.

The Orioles' Milciades Santana continued his dominance of the MABL with his high 80's, low 90mph fastballs striking out 10 in 5 2/3 innings of relief but the Grays bats had already done their damage prior to Santana entering the game scoring 8 runs in the first two innings. Those eight runs would be all the Grays would need.

Mike Gulinello continued his stellar hitting going 2-4 3 RBI, R, SB and was the standout bat of the game for the Grays.

For the Orioles, Greg Gallivan had a big day going 3-3 RBI, R.

Spinners 10, Grays 5

 Summary | Box Score

Spinners 1 0 0 0 5 4 0 10 13 6
Grays 0 0 0 5 0 0 0 5 6 1

Spinners go to 2-0 against division rival Grays with a 10-5 win on Wednesday night. The Grays scored their only 5 runs in the bottom of the 4th after the Spinners defense collapsed with 4 errors in one inning. Down, but not out, the Spinners answered back with 5 of their own to regain the lead, capped off by a J.Tufo pinch hit 2RBI single with 2 outs and the bases loaded. J.Tufo continued his clutch play in the 7th, charging in from right field to make a diving catch to end the inning.

Scary moment for the Spinners in the 6th: Trying to protect a 1 run lead, all-star catcher D.Caceres makes a huge play at the plate for the out, but also gets an unintentional finger to the eyeball. Asked how it felt by a sideline reporter after the game, Danny replied, "It felt like I had a pound of sand in my eye."

Great combine pitching effort by McHugh, Gillette & Blomerth.

The Spinners take on 2 out of division teams this weekend.
