Shane Steffens and Keith Umlauf shared pitching duties and held the Braves to 1 run to clinch the Atlantic wildcard slot.

The Cubs were led by the splendid defense of Brian Delaney who in left field, made multiple over the shoulder and diving catches to save a handful of Braves baserunners. Delaney also had a huge 2 out, 2 strike 2 RBI double in the 5th.

Mike Pietasiewicz also had a great game, going 3 for 3 with a run scored and the game winning RBI.

Chris O'Sullivan pitched the complete game for the Braves and took the tough loss.

Chris Filiberto pitched his first complete game in his MABL career, holding the Broncos to 8 hits in a 7-4 win tonight at Fallon Field. Filiberto only allowed 1 earned run, while walking none and striking out 9. Offensively, the Braves had a 6 run outburst in the third, led by RBI's by Filiberto, Allen, Danielson, and Parker. 8 out of the 10 Braves starters collected 1 hit a piece. Ariel Peguero led the Broncos offense with 2 hits.

Garrett Fisher picked up the complete game victory as the Dodgers scored late to defeat the Braves at the Circle. Fisher and Brave starter Kevin Szoke battled all day.

The Dodgers scored four runs in the last two innings to take the victory. In the bottom of the seventh John Mallin and pinchhitter Jose Medina singled and Andy Hickey walked. With two out and the bases loaded Scott Gilefsky singled up the middle to score two runs and to end the game.

John Danielson had a big day for the Braves as he hit a homerun and threw out a runner trying to steal second.

I another close battle the Royals outlasted the Braves in an extra inning affair. In a manner reminiscent of last years' final meeting between these two teams, Matt O'Hara scored the winning run on a bases loaded balk in the top of the 8th. John Palumbo (2 for 4, 2B, RBI) followed up with an RBI single to add some insurance.

Ariel Martinez (5-3) picked up the win for the Royals (7IP, 4R, 3ER, 3K), Jay Legere converted his 3rd save chance by throwing a hittless 8th. Kevin Szoke pitched strong for the Braves (7.1IP, 6R, 4ER, 6K)

For the Royals, Greg Kosc (2 for 4, R) and Matt O'Hara (2 for 3, R, RBI, 2B) each had a multihit game. For the Braves, Mike Knell (1 for 3, BB, 2SB) was a terror on the basebaths as he scored 3 of the Braves' 4 runs. Chris O'Sullivan (2 for 3, RBI) was the lone Brave to have two hits and he also gunned out a runner at home to keep things tight in the 8th.

The Braves got going quickly as RBI singles by Mike Knell and Chris O'Sullivan (2 for 4) capped a 3-run first. The Royals came back with 2 runs a piece in the 1st and 2nd off of 7 hits. The first inning was capped by Felix Villalobos' RBI double. The second inning was capped by John Palumbo's (2 for 3) RBI single.

After the Braves tied it in the 4th, the Royals went ahead for good in the bottom half of the inning. Off of only one hit, another Palumbo RBI single, and 5 stolen bases the Royals scored 2 runs.

Jason Kurtz (2-1) got the win for the Royals. He went 6 strong innings, and recovered well after a rough start. Jay Legere got his 2nd save of the season by pitching a perfect 7th with 2 Ks.

For the Braves, Angelo Amico (1 for 2, SB, 2BB) scored two runs on the day. For the Royals, Greg Kosc was a perfect 3 for 3 with a Double. Mike Malin and Matt O'Hara (2R) each had two hits.

Jim Belcastro's 2 run single broke a 3-3 tie in the 7th and propelled the Braves (13-8) to a 6-3 victory Wednesday Night at Clifford Field. Chris Allen got the win for the Braves, going the distance on an impressive 6 hitter while striking out 8. Jon Danielson had 2 hits to lead the Braves offense. For the Cubs, Guarrera and Besegai (HR) each had 2 hits in defeat.

Although the Yankees scored 7 quick runs in the 1st two innings, the Braves pecked away slowly. Backed by the bats of Mark Doucette (2-4, 2B, HR) and Chris Allen (2-4, 2B), the Braves battled back to get within 3 after 6 innings (7-4). Just as the Braves climbed back into it, a big 2-out, 2-run single in the 7th by Frank Kowalski (2-4, 2B, 3 RBI) gave the Yanks all the breathing room they would need.

Paul Reggio earned the win scattering 10 hits over 6 innings while striking out 6. Adam Frauton, AJ Bucciarelli, and Todd Steffanides each had two hits.

For the Braves, Chris O'Sullivan picked up the loss. Jim Belcastro added a solo blast in the 7th.

In a battle of divisional foes, the Yankees outlasted the Braves in 8 innings. The Yanks scored a quick 3 in the 1st highlighted by an Adam Frauton 2-run triple. Frauton then added a 2-run homerun in the 3rd to give the Yanks a 5-0 lead.

The Braves battled back to take the lead by scoring 3 in the 4th and 3 in the 5th highlighted by a Chris O'Sullivan double. Down 6-5 in the bottom of the 5th, a Jeff McHugh 2-run triple and a Jeff Coveney run scoring single gave the Yanks an 8-6 lead.

The Braves scored single runs in the 6th and 7th to tie it up. Jim Belcastro's hustle double in the 7th was key.

In the 8th, Frauton sent a ball into the Circle RF trees for the game winning double. On the night, Frauton drove in 5 runs and was a single short of the cycle. In just 8 games this season, Fraughton has 15 RBIs.

Ken Kilduff picked up the win in relief. For the Braves, Mark Doucette continues to heat up as he collected 3 hits.

For Allen, it was his third win of the season, and first since May 22nd, also against the Marlins. Kevin Szoke's first complete game of the season propelled the Braves (7-6) to a 6-3 win Wednesday Night at Clifford Field. Szoke had only allowed 1 run on 3 hits entering the 7th, before a late Indian rally fell short. Szoke finished having allowed 3 earned runs, while walking 3 and striking out 2. Offensively for the Braves, Chris Allen's three run triple highlighted the night for the Braves, while Jim Belcastro also added 2 hits. For the Indians, Mark Bowles and Rob Dexter each had two hits.

Doucette had 2 triples and drove in 5. Brian May had 3 hits for the Braves, while Shane Parker and Jon Danielson each had 2 hits.

Michael McInnis led the White Sox attack with 3 hits, while Dave Timmons chipped in with 2 hits and Jon Mead homered.

The two veterans combined for an 8 for 8 night.

O'Sullivan threw 5 innings allowing only 1 unearned run on 3 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 8. In a well played game by both sides, the Cardinals edged the Braves 3-2. Mike Greaney once again turned in an outstanding effort going 6 innings, 0 runs, 0 BB giving up only two hits. He struck out 7 facing the minimum by getting the Braves to hit into two double plays. Jeff James knocked in 2 runs and Chris Caprio added 1 for the Card's. James also threw out the would be tying run in the top of the seventh. Newly signed free-agent, Jay Day overcame a Braves rally to earn the save. For the Braves, Chris Allen had a solid effort on the hill.

Tim Fortune pitched a one-hitter as the Mets topped the Braves, 8-1. Jon Danielson's solid single to right leading off the sixth inning was the lone Brave hit. Fortune allowed one unearned run, walked one, hit a batter and struck out 12. After six errorless innings, three Mets miscues in the 7th cost Fortune a chance at the shutout. Fortune helped himself with a two-run double in the 4th and walked twice. Chris Sansone had two hits for the Mets, including an RBI triple. For the Braves, former Cy Young winner Chris O'Sullivan made his return to the mound, tossing a scoreless inning and striking out two.

Chris Allen won for his 2nd time in 2 starts, as the Braves broke open a close game by winning 11-2. Eric August's bases clearing double was the big blow in the 8 run 5th inning. Mark Doucette recorded his 2nd save of the season, getting a strike out to end the top of the 5th with the tying run on 1st base. Bill Elliott pitched very well for the Marlins, holding the Braves to 2 runs until the 5th inning.
