The Acton Orioles defeated a very worthy Watham Braves team 2-0 to win the Boston MSBL Masters championship at Acton-Boxboro High School. The game was a pitchers duel with Larry Shade and Barry Foster each going the distance. Dennis Fontecchio scored in the bottom of the sixth on Steve Fahey's infield single. Steve Pratt scored on a wild pitch to provide an insurance run. Shade fanned the last batter in the top of the 7th to end the game. The Orioles look forward to more great games with the Braves next season.

Another unbelievable game as Waltham wins 7-6. Barry Foster goes the distance on 4 days rest for the win. Tight game until the Braves score 5 in the 6th. Lots of offense with 30 hits in the game. Metro led 3-2 in 6th but Braves score 5 to go up 7-3. Metro with 2 outs in 7th have a furious rally to score 3 and have the tying run thrown out at the plate to end the game. Multiple hits by Burns, Ron Pelletier, Foster, O'brien, Grammar, and Vallerand to lead Braves attack. Moise, Garafano had 2 hits each for Metro.

Braves force a game 3 with a 5-2 win. Red Sox score 2 in the first off Barry Foster, but Foster shuts them down the rest of the way. Braves offense was led by Strassman 2-2 and a bases clearing double by Locke to break a 2-2 tie. Garafano and Bonnano had 2 hits each for Metro and Cappozi pitched very well in the loss

Unbelievable game! The Braves jumped out to an 8-1 lead when the Sox chipped away. This game had a ton of offense on both sides and some awesome defensive outfield plays that helped the Sox edge out the win behind Russ Ward's 3.2-IP long pitching relief performance to hold down a strong Braves offense. Several Sox had multiple hits and the keys late in the game by Eric Kimble, Dave Garofano, Marco Vitozzi and Vin Bonanno had back to back doubles to tie and win the game in the bottom of the 7th!

Braves advance to the next round in a tight game 6-3. Game was tied 3-3 until the Braves scored 3 in the 7th. Offense was led by Kevin Locke who was 3-4 with 2 doubles and 4 rbis. Franz Strassman was 3-3. Bobby Lebrun and Ray Obrien added rbi singles. Locke went the distance for the win. Mike Johnson pitched well for North Andover and also singled home 2 runs.

The Thunder offense returned to pound out 11 hits in a 5-3 win. Chuck April with 3 hits and Brian Whipple with 2 paced the attack. Mike Johnson rebounds from a tough outing with a great performance, scattering 5 hits over 6 innings, with the help of some strong defense: on a bad hop grounder off 1B Jim Wick, Dave Brown caught the rebound and threw to Mike Johnson covering to turn a hit into an out, and Chuck April caught a sinking line drive at 3B and doubled up the runner at first to kill a 4th-inning rally. Rick Armand also ran down a ball that Waltham's Gary Vallerand drove to very deep right-center (it had triple written all over it) to stop the Braves 2nd inning rally.
