Incredible performance by Don Lindsey, entering the game in the 3rd inning with the bases loaded and 2 outs, strikes out the Gray's Titus (who had a monster double in the 1st) to kill the rally. Don goes on to strike out 10 in 4 1/3 innings. Thunder "d" helped with good running catches by Mike Quinn and Dave Brown on the right side of the infield.

Thunder took the lead in the home half of the 3rd on a leadoff bunt single by Rick Armand, who stole second and scored on Frank Marr's RBI single. Frank stole 2nd and Tim Bradley knocked him in.
Dave Grady singled to start the 5th and scored the insurance run.

This was a great game for 9 innings from both sides with the Thunder hosting the Metro-Sox at Holman Stadium. Both teams played very good defense but the Sox prevailed behind timely hitting with Peter Nicolo & MarK Moise leading the offense and strong pitching performances by Kevin Curtin and Steve "the surgeon" Capozzi. Thanks to the Thunder for hosting this game at a classic park !

The Thunder offense returned to pound out 11 hits in a 5-3 win. Chuck April with 3 hits and Brian Whipple with 2 paced the attack. Mike Johnson rebounds from a tough outing with a great performance, scattering 5 hits over 6 innings, with the help of some strong defense: on a bad hop grounder off 1B Jim Wick, Dave Brown caught the rebound and threw to Mike Johnson covering to turn a hit into an out, and Chuck April caught a sinking line drive at 3B and doubled up the runner at first to kill a 4th-inning rally.

Rick Armand also ran down a ball that Waltham's Gary Vallerand drove to very deep right-center (it had triple written all over it) to stop the Braves 2nd inning rally.
