JM Force 4, Boston Padres 3
A 2-out Padre error breaks open a scoreless duel between Michael Stefaniak (winning his 5th) and Darwin Mesa. But before JM Force can cash in they have to withstand a ferocious Padre rally in the 7th with the game ending on Patrick Valdez's double bidding to tie the gsme. The long relay in from Billy Collins nailed the runner at the plate with catcher Dan King holding onto the ball after being crashed to the ground. King also added 2 hits and an rbi. And Chris Kutcher belted a long triple, scoring on Travis Jonasson's second hit for the eventual game-winner. JM Force's Matt Skinner saw his 21-game hitting streak come to an end - his last at bat a line shot to right with the bases loaded, threatening to break the game open, that was hauled in by Rick Gilbody. |

Cannon Club 7, Boston Padres 5
Ben Knott picks up his first Park league win with Lacker coming in for the save. Cannon took advantage of walks, hits and an error in the 5th to get ahead with a comfortable lead.
The Padres roared back with what seemed to be a grand slam by Pequeno on a miss play by the Cannon right fielder. 'Seemed' as Cannon appealed that the first run to score never touched the plate and he was called out.
A comeback was in the works in the 7th but pitching and defense kept the tying run off base. |
