Lexington completed a weekend sweep of Medford with a Sunday night win.
Steve Bodnar, 3-3, pitched his first complete game shutout of the season. He walked none and struck out six. He retired 14 of 15 batters from second through six innings. He pitched 3.2 hitless innings before Mike Delponte (two hits) doubled with two out in the fourth.
Nick Martinho hit his first home run of the season in the second. Dan Graham singled in a run in third and doubled in a run in the fifth for Lexington.
Ryan McNiff took the loss for Medford. In four innings he gave up six hits, four runs, walked none and struck out one. |

Medford jumped out to a 2 run lead in the top of the 3rd after a leadoff walk by Joe Sheehan who was then sacrificed to 2nd. Sheehan scored the Americans first run when Mark Addessa drove him in with a single. Charlie Pagliarulo scored Dan Gunn for the final run of the inning. Watertown answered back when Brendan Casey singled and later scored on a Luke Begley single to cut the lead to 2-1. Sean Callahan then scored the tieing run one inning later when Casey came through again with a single to rightcenter. The Reds won on walkoff fashion when Chris Burke doubled down the rightfield line to score Sam Sager in the bottom of the 7th to take home the win, 3-2. Brian Casey recorded his 6th win of the season while striking out 10 and breaking the team record for K's in a season. |

Mike Addesa finished the night 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI and went four strong innings as Testa Corp. topped the Medford Americans 8-3 on Tuesday evening. The Bombers banged out 13 hits scoring in every inning. Pete John continued to stay hot going 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, driving in two runs while Vinnie Eruzione and Mark O'Flynn each had two hits.
Mark Addesa led the game off with a towering blast to left for his first home run of the season. |
