The MetroSox take game one of the championship series after rain suspended the game in the bottom of the 7th where Charlie Tinchert pitched well holding a 5 - 1 lead before the Sox tied the game in the bottom of the 7th. In the continuation the Sox Steve Bessette knocked in the winning run. |

The Orioles outslugged the Grays 20-8 to win this semifinal series 2-0. Dennis Fontecchio pitched 5+ innings in relief for the win, and went 5 for 5. Ron Zadrozny had 4 hits and Jon Held, Billl Rhodes and Charlie Tinschert 3 hits each to lead a deep offensive attack. |

Tremendous baseball game. The Thunder's Mike Johnson and their defense fought through a bunch of walks, struck out 6, scattered 2 Oriole hits, and made some great plays to secure the win. Rick Armand with 2 stellar catches in CF including the game-ending double play via a strong relay by John Dias to Dave Brown at First. Mike Quinn and Dave Grady each doubled for the Thunder. |
