On a night that was a tid bit nippley, the Cutters, minus their favorite centerfielder with a torn ACL, push across 10 runs to move up 2 games to none on the O's and inch closer to the MABL Finals.

The Orioles jumped out to a quick 3-1 lead, taking advantage of some Cutter miscues in the field, the big hit coming from Billy Connor scoring 2. The Cutters would answer back in the following inning by loading the bases w/ 0 outs. Cross steps up to the plate and takes the outside pitch down the left field line for the double, scoring 2. After a BB, Del Rio gets the GWRBI smacking a single to left scoring Moloney. Matt Ells finished off the scoring in the 3rd w/ a dbl scoring 2.

Del Rio got his groove back from the 3rd inning on and shut down the Orioles the rest of the way, picking up his 2nd win of the Playoffs.

The Orioles won another extra-inning thriller on a walkoff double in the 8th.

The game was very well played on both sides. On Friday night, Mike Stasio threw 4 scoreless innings for the O's. Victor Ruiz matched him almost pitch for pitch, allowing only 2 hits and one run through 4, before the game was suspended due to rain.

In today's continuation, Ruiz made a valiant return on one day's rest to continue his start, keeping the DBacks in contention by allowing no hits in the 5th through 7th. Meanwhile, Bo Gillette entered for the O's and was within one strike of closing the game in the 7th when David Perez of the DBacks hit a line drive up the middle, driving in Josh Valerio with the tying run. To extra innings we went.

In the bottom of the 8th, Yoiner De La Cruz led off with a single and stole 2nd base. After a walk to Bobby Shady, Jose De Los Santos smashed a double in the 8th to drive in the winning run and end the series.

A pair of aces is a winning hand. De Los Santos stays hot and propels the O's into Round 2.

Orioles 1 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 3 6 2
Dbacks 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 2 6 2

The O's won a pitchers duel, as Bo Gillette beat Nelson Castillo in a tight game where each pitcher went the distance and racked up 11 K's.

The 8th inning in particular was full of drama. In the top half, the O's did it with smallball. Julio Gonzalez led off with a bunt single and ultimately scored on a successful squeeze play by Billy Connor. In the bottom half, Andrew Miller led off with a single and Omar Ortiz followed with another hit to left field. However, LF Seth Desilets threw a strike to third base to erase the lead runner trying to go 1st to 3rd. Gillette then worked around a walk to get his final K and a game-ending groundout.

The series continues at Chelsea HS this Friday at 8pm, if the weather cooperates. Game 2 probables: Stasio vs. Ruiz.

Bo (11K's) knows playoffs. Gonzalez nails two would-be basestealers. Desilets with a huge outfield assist in the extra frame.

The O's punched their playoff ticket with a hard fought 4-3 win, led by Mike Stasio who pitched a complete game 3-hitter. Offensively, the hero of the game was Jose De Los Santos, who went 4 for 4: with the Orioles down 3-2 in the 5th, Jordan Krall led off with a double before De Los Santos crushed a HR to right-center, staking the O's to a 1-run lead which they would not relinquish.

For the A's, Andrew Billig hit a solo home run and made a phenomenal catch in center field, robbing Krall of another extra base hit.

Stasio wins his 5th, and De Los Santos goes 4-4 with a 2B and HR. Billig hits a HR and flashes the leather in CF.

This one wasn't much shorter. In a highly dramatic, back-and-forth game, the O's pulled it out in 11 innings, overcoming three late-game deficits. In the final inning, Eric Fudeman had the GW-RBI with a single up the middle to score Jose De Los Santos with the winning run.
