The Padres jumped out to an eary 8-1 lead before Grossman battled back with a 7 run 3rd to tie the game. Grossman finally got the lead with a four run 5th inning and held on for the victory. Nat Anglin pitched 4 innings of one run relief for the win (4IP 0ER 1H 5K). Pasciucco made a terrific diving catch in left to start the seventh that helped prevent any chance of a Padres rally.

Eight Grossman hitters had an RBI including two apiece for McCabe, Fischer, Andruskevich, and Fay. Andruskevich (3H) and McCabe both had multi-hit games, and 8 Grossman batters recorded hits. The Grossman rally in the third was sparked when 8 straight batters reached safely, with seven of the eight eventually reaching home.

Towne kept its playoff hopes alive and inched back into 4th place over idle Cannon while backing up the Padres to the brink of elimination. Early defensive lapses cost Padres. Luis Rodriguez had a key RBI double for Towne, and Billy Maddock knocked in two runs. Pat Connolly went the route, picking up his 7th win and stranding two runners in the 6th and 7th.

The veterans (Darwin Mesa, Glenroy James) lead the offense attack that every batter in the lineup had at least 1 hit. Mesa went 3 for 4 with 2 runs and 2 rbi's, James was 2 for 4 with 2 rbi's. Starling Arias notched his 4 win with outstanding bullpen help from Carlos Rosario, who retired the last 9 batters of the game.

Michael Stefaniak (3-4) was dominant for the first four, and Towne hung on to defeat the Padres in a battle of the many playoff contenders. Towne left 12 runners on and needed Luis Rodriguez's 2 doubles, run and 2 rbi, an rbi single by Travis Jonasson in the 6th and Pat Connolly's (6-2) 3rd save of the year. Francis Gonzalez had 2 doubles and 2 rbi for Padres.

Just when things were looking desperate the IV turns to "Ironman" McAndrew to lead them to victory. McAndrew spun a 2 hit 6 K gem as IV scores 6 in the 6th to claim the win. Baez took the loss for the Padres fanning 7. Keith Tompkins led the IV offense with a pair of doubles and 3 RBI's.

Cardiac kids are back!! The 2nd come from behind win in a row in the 7th inning, and the 7th come from behind win this season. Cashbee Calderon ties the game with a baseloaded 2-out, 2-strike single to centerfield to tie the game and then Runel Lachapell hits a bounding ball towards the middle which the 2nd baseman backhands but by the time the ball gets to 1st the runner is safe and the game is over. Darwin Mesa goes the distance scattering 6 hits to win his 2nd consecutive game.

Carlson Club wins another close one. Steve Melo does a great job for the Carlson Club out of the bullpen pitching 3 innings, scattering 5 hits and giving up only one run to pick up the victory. The Carlson Clus offense was led by Josue Feliciano who went 2-3,two doubles,1R,1RBI,1SB,1BB
Jose Diaz comes through in the fifth with a towering HR which proved to be the winning run. Arias was tough on the hill for the Padres pitching a CG scattering 5 hits and striking out 8 batters.
