Towne jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first inning, but Grossman responded with a 6 run second. Grossman also added a 7 spot in the 5th to put the game out of reach. McCabe lead the way with 4 hits and 6 rbi, and Tenaglia and Hayes each had a multi-hit game. Perry and Anglin combined to give up 3 earned runs for Grossman.

Towne picked up its 20th victory and clinched at least a second-place finish behind Danny Gomez' complete game. Towne had runners on base every inning, but left 11 men on for the second time this week. Dan Merzel and Luis Rodriguez each had two hits and a run scored at the top of the order; and Corey Pontes, Billy Maddock and Steve Picco (single, double, sacrifice) knocked in the runs. Scott Hampe went the route for Grossman.

chris gingle pitched 5 strong innings allowing only 1 run. gavin flangan had the big hit with a 2-run rbi single in the 5th. towne rallied in the 7th but came up short. pontes and picco led towne with 3 hits each. stockyard played great defense with dan hyatt throwing out to runners including the last out to perserve the win.

Michael Stefaniak hurled the complete game shutout in posting his fifth win. Towne left 11 men on base and lacked the big hit to blow the game open. But Billy Maddock had two hits and two of eight walks plus two HBP allowed by Padre pitching, and Michael O'Brien scored twice.

After three hitless innings Cannon roughed up Yulkin German on three hits, two walks and a two-out error good for five runs (only one earned). Tim Corcoran lined a two-out, two-run single to give Cannon the lead. Towne came back to gain the tie on RBI singles by Dana Dresser and Angus Fredenburg and four shutout innings on one hit by Michael Stefaniak.

The two top teams and the two top pitchers in games won went at it with Towne's Michael O'Brien (6-1) coming out on top of Jim Perry (6-1) in a tough fought game. O'Brien's diving catch and converted double play on an attempted sacrifice bunt in the 7th saved the game. Dana Dresser singled in the game-winner, Angus Fredenburg had 2 RBI singles and Billy Maddock knocked in a run for Towne. Sean Fay tripled home two and doubled and scored Grossman's final run.

Three Towne pitchers combined for the one-hitter: Yulkin German (4 perfect innings), Danny Gomez and Michael Stefaniak. Dan Merzel scored all three runs with a 3 for 3, walk and three stolen bases. His speed manufactured the first and third runs almost by himself, and he cut down a runner at the plate from second base on an attempted double steal. Corey Pontes and Billy Maddock knocked in runs for Towne. Mike Aiena got the lone Cannon hit to drive in their run.

Corey Pontes tripled in the tying run and scored the eventual winner. Steve Picco (double and triple) and Dan Merzel (single, HBP and 2 stolen bases) helped ignite Towne's comeback. Mike Regan went the route for Irish Village, and Jaime Dahill ripped a 2-run single to give Irish an early 5-0 lead.

Towne pulled out a tough win with Dana Dresser (2 for 4) and Billy Maddock (2 for 3, 2 RBI) leading the way on offense and with key defensive plays. Dan Merzel walked three times and stole 2 more bases. Towne escaped a second and third nobody out in the 5th with key plays by Dresser, Merzel and catcher Danny Arenas. Carlson had one of the loudest four hit games you'd see with several hard hit balls chased down in the outfield by Maddock and Michael O'Brien.

Towne reached double figures for the second straight game and flashed some serious power for the first time this season with triples by Billy Maddock and Angus Fredenburg and booming triple and home run by Danny Arenas. Arenas and Fredenburg had 3 rbi each. Corey Pontes had three hits and Dave Williams (2-0) went the route in his first start of the season. JP Songin laced two doubles for both Palmer rbi but his 2 for 4 droppped his remarkably torrid batting average ten points to .585.

Towne snapped out of its four-game offensive doldrum with a season high 11 runs and 12 hits. The key hit was a 2-run single by Dana Dresser (3 rbi) in the 4th after it appeared the Padres might escape a bases loaded, nobody out. Eric Catalanotti went 2 for 3, 3 runs and an RBI ground out; Dan Merzel used his speed (3 SB - 11 on the year - despite suffering his first CS) and scored three runs. Lee Zancewicz and Andrew Terista homered for Padres in an early rough stretch for Towne's winning pitcher Adam Merzel (6 IP).

Rony Mercado picked up his third win of the year in out-dueling Yulkin German. Towne's best threat came with the bases loaded in the fourth with nobody out. But as German did in the top of the inning by fanning the next three Carlson batters, Mercado got out of this jam and retired the final 12 batters he faced. Edwin Pena had a pair of RBI singles. German struck out 13 batters in 6 innings and Kyle Adkins tacked on two more in pitching the 7th for towne.

Grossman Marketing hands Towne Club its first loss of the season in a classic pitchers' duel. Stefaniak gets the hard luck loss giving up two hits and one earned run. Anthony Lauretto pitches a gem--1 hit, 2 walks through six and 2/3 innings. Towne Club threatens in the 7th scoring a run on 3 hits. Jim Perry gets the save pitching to one batter. Games ends on a defensive gem by McCabe on a hard grounder up the middle that would have tied the game. Grossman scores the deciding run in the top of the 7th on a lead-off triple by Jim Klocek and a suicide squeeze by Jeff Bizinkauskas.

Towne extended their league-leading record to 10-0, but the game wasn't decided until the final swing of the bat. With two out and nobody on base Stockyard mounted a 7th inning rally, and Devin Barry unloaded a 2-out 400+ foot bomb with the bases loaded that was hauled in by CF Billy Maddock. Michael O'Brien hurled 6 2/3 for his fourth win of the year. Towne scored on sac flies by Eric Catalanotti and Steve Picco and an rbi single by Brendon Duffy.

The winning run was scored by Eric Catalanotti, who walked to lead off the 9th, took second on G.P. O'Kane's sac bunt and stole third, coming home on a throwing error. Towne finally broke through against W. Bessinger in the 5th on a two-out single by Evan Hudson, a stolen base and Billy Maddock's rbi double. Jim Pierce and O'Sullivan each had two hits for ADSL.

Michael O'Brien fanned 13 to run his record to 3-0 and Towne's to 7-0. The top of Towne's order - Dan Merzel, G.P. O'Kane and Corey Pontes - carried the offense with a combined 5 for 10, hbp, sac fly, 6 runs, 3 rbi and 6 stolen bases. While still a 2-1 ballgame with first and third in the 4th, SS Merzel made a diving stop on ball headed up the to end the inning and save a run.

Towne rans its record to 6-0, beating previously undefeated Stockyard, with a stunning comeback rally after coughing up a five-spot in the first. Angus Fredenburg singled home Corey Pontes (single, Eric Catalanotti sac bunt) with the tying run and took second on the throw to the plate. Then G.P. O'Kane promptly drove him home with the winner, singling up the middle. Michael O'Brien's RBI single brought Towne back to within one in the 6th. Then in the Stockyard 7th a great throw home by CF Billy Maddock and a big play by catcher Dan Merzel got Towne out of a bases loaded, nobody out jam with an inning-ending DP. Relievers Kyle Adkins and Dave Williams held the highly-regarded Stockyard offense scoreless over the final 6 2/3.

Towne had only hit off Rony Mercado, a 2-out rbi single by Mike O'Brien in the third until breaking out for a 5-run 6th. The big hits were an rbi single by G.P. O'Kane and a 2-run single by Mark Dignum. Yulkin German had held Carlson to one unearned run with 7 Ks through 5. Nolan Murphy pitched a scoreless 6th for the win, and O'Brien survived a scary 7th when Carlson had two runs in and the tying run at the plate before the Babson lefty retired the final three hitters.

Adam Merzel went 5+ innings to record his first Park League win after being picked up by Dan Gomez, who pitched out of 6th and 7th inning jams. With the bases loaded and one out - and after having walked the last two hitters - Gomez was picked up by a snappy game-ending 4-6-3 GIDP on which first baseman Corey Pontes made the game-saving scoop to put Towne's 4th victory of the season in the books.

Towne Club made it a 3-0 opening week with a victory over potent Carlson. Jolmi Minaya, one of 16 Towne rookies, allowed one earned run over 5 1/3, and Babson lefty Michael O'Brien picked up his second relief win. Eric Catalanotti knocked in two runs for Towne, and Dan Merzel scored twice after leading off innings with singles. Junior Rentas stole a base.

After seeing their 3-run lead disappear in the 7th, Towne's Catalanotti led off extra innings with a single and stole second; Picco then lined a base-hit for the game-winner. German made hit Park League debut by fanning seven Defending Champion Padres in his four innings of shutout pitching. Mesa pitched into the 7th with some very tough luck.
