Chris Demers complete game propelled the Bluefish to their first ever YBL Finals, defeating a tough Malden Bulldogs squad 4-1, to take the series by 3 games to 1. Al Becker had 3 hits, while Bobby Foote added 2 hits for the Bluefish. Evan Tardugno led the Bulldogs offense with 2 hits.

After a few errors and ball lost in the dusk, the Bluefish found themselves down 5-0 in the bottom of the first inning of Game 3. But the hosts scratched and clawed as Kyle Jones CG, 8 Ks) kept the Bulldogs' bats at bay.

Jason Recore (2 hits, 3 runs) knocked in the go-ahead runs with a double in the fourth, as the Bluefish came back from their biggest deficit in team history to defeat the Bulldogs by a score of 9-6 for their 13th straight home victory. It was their third come-from-behind win in their last four playoff games. Tardugno was the tough-luck loser for Malden, and D'Entremont launched a 2-run double in the first.

Game 4 is at Rogers at the series resumes Friday night.

Malden battled back from their implosion the night before to best East Boston 4 to 1.

Adam Del Rio got the win in 6 innings of work and Jay Wisner recorded the save.

Malden's offense was paced by RBi's from Evan Tardugno, C4, and Matt Savage.

Sandini pitched very well for East Boston and Hartery hit a bomb to left center for a homerun in the 4th.

The series continues tomorrow at Rogers.

Wild game at Maplewood. Malden scored 2 in the bottom of the 1st and rode the arm of Ken Olisky for 3 perfect innings, and a shutout through 4. In the 5th, after an error, Sean Glavin hit a long 2 run home run to tie the game at 2. As quickly as the Bluefish tied the game, Malden went ahead 4-2 on a long home run by Tom Englehart. It remained 4-2 into the 7th, where the Bluefish scored 5 runs on 2 hits and 4 walks, highlighted by a Mike Lembo single making it 4-3, a Jason Recore bases loaded walk that tied the game, a 2 run single by Al Becker making it 6-4, and a Bobby Foote Sac Fly. Bluefish starter Nate Titcomb, pitching for the first time in over 3 weeks, kept the Fish in it, going 5 innings giving up 4 hits and 4 runs. Matt Smith pitched a scoreless 6th for the win, and Ian Titcomb pitched a scoreless 7 for the save.

The dormant Malden bats came alive today on a great day at a beautiful ball field in Milton.

Malden scored 2 runs in the first. Joe Eugenio walked (series 0-1, 6 walks)and was doubled home by a ball off the 395 foot sign in left center by Tom Englehardt. Englehardt scored on a Sac Fly by Adam Del Rio.

Al Thomas scored in the 1st on am RBI single by Muse.

Malden pushed across 2 in the 3rd. The offensive highlight came in the 4th on a 3-run homerun by Lenny Carter over the 405 foot sign in right center.

Evan Tardugno came back today getting the win in 5 innings of work. Mike Steele and Jay Wisner pitched the 6th and 7th respectively.

Malden wins the series 2-0.

Game Time 2:12. Attendance: A sellout: 52 fans! Bat Day was a success!

Corey Carter stole third and scored on an over throw in the 4th inning. That was the rest of the scoring.

Ryan Stoller pitched great for Al Thomas. He kept Malden hitters off balance all day.

Adam Del Rio was the winning pitcher going 5 innings and striking out 8. Pat Shannahan got the save.

The game ended on line drive double play. Al Thomas had runners on first and second at the time.

Eugneio was on base 3 times with 3 walks, Lenny Carter had a double and a single, and Corey Carter had a single and a key steal to pace Malden's offense.

Phil Keefe collected 7 Ks through 5 on his way to the win. Scott Barchard retired 6 straight to earn the save. Tony Iafolla added 3 hits and an RBI to lead the offense.

Malden used of its two hits tonight to help score a run in the first inning. Malden Scored on a Joey Eugenio Walk, a passed ball, a Tom Englehardt single and a "Donkey" Del Rio RBI groundout.

Ken Olisky and Tyler Norton were the story the rest of the way. Olisky pitched a complete game 2 hitter. One of the hit was a legged out infield single by Kaye in the 2nd. Olisky threw 80 pitches and 58 for strikes.

Tom Englehardt had both hit for Malden.

The game time was 90 minutes.

Another war between South Boston and Malden ended with an explosion, literally!

Rob Stephenson and Adam Del Rio locked up in pitcher's duel. Del Rio went off the bump and went in to play right field in the 8th. He made a diving game saving catch with the game winning run at second base.

Malden scored 2 runs in the 9th with 2 outs. Lenny Carter hit a double and scored on Steve D'Entremont's major league pop up to short right field that fell in. Tom Englehardt followed with a single that plated D'Entremont.

Rob Linn of Southie led off the 9th with a bomb to left that was somehow run down in semi-slow motion by Lenny Carter.

Patrick Shanahan got the win and Jay Wisner the save.

A great battle by 2 great teams.

After the teams shook hands, one of Malden's finest threw back a foul ball onto the field. This Nokonna Pearl was filled with some type of explosive and blew up when it hit the ground!

Sox win behind another strong pitching performace turned in by J.T. Ross. Ross threw six innings strking out twelve to earn the victory.

Jared Rooney pitched the seventh to pick up the save.

McKay Club beat the best team in the YBL tonight. Malden is a machine and that machine was shut down at least tonight by UMass product Brian Curran. Curran pitched a complete (8 inning0 game and allowed only 3 hits. The mighty malden bats were quiet, but they managed to tie it up on old friend Dana Levensaler's hit in the 7th. The beacons scored when Tom Michael led off the 8th rounded to 3B on an error and scored on Jack Owens solid single to center.

Peter Karl made a tremendous throw to the plate to end the game on a double play and preserve the victory.

Malden started off a tough week of 5 straight games with a short-handed win against South End.

The Bulldogs were missing 4 starters on this steamy Sunday afternoon.

Mike Steele started the game for the Bulldogs. Malden scored 3 runs in the third on a couple of errors and a safety squeeze by Evan Tardugno.

In the 5th South End loaded the bases with one out. Malden made a pitching change and called on veteran Kevin McGovern. McGovern got a ground out and a K to end the frame.

Malden's dormant bats finally came alive in the later innings. Adam "Donkey" Del Rio blasted a 3 run homerun to left in the 6th.

Corey Carter capped the game off with a grand slam over the left corner of the scoreboard in left center.

Franny Rodriguez had an RBI groundout for South End.

Farrar threw 119 pitches 82 of which were stikes. He was the hard luck loser in a very well played game
