Boston Padres 1 0 1 0 8 0 x 10 9 2

Padres exploded for 8 runs in the 5th to break open a 2-0 game. Greg Lovett pitched 5 shutout innings allowing 1 hit on his way to his 1st win of the season. Brandon Cody led the offensive going 2 for 3 with 2 stolen bases,2 runs, walk and rbi. Sam Bernard and Mike Ross both doubled and had 2 rbi's.

Towne wasted a solid effort by Hampe when the infield defense fell apart during an 8-run 5th. And for the third straight loss to open the season the offense failed to generate enough until it was too late to dig out of the hole.
