Sun, 21 May, 1:00PM, at North Andover - NA HS (Game 1 of DH)
Merrimack Valley Marlins 5, Greater Boston Bandits 2
In the first game of the Marlins-Bandits doubleheader, the Marlins fought through early adversity to take home the win.
As the Marlins struggled in the field to open the game, the Bandits took a quick 2 run lead off of Marlin's pitcher Sean O'Neill. The Marlins would fight back to score 3 in the bottom of the second, which would be more than enough to improve their record to 2-1.
While O'Neill maintained his typical standard of play, the highlight pitching performance of the game came from Marlin's Scot Leslie (3IP, 0R, 5K) who turned in a clean three innings of work to earn the save.
The Marlins offense was led by the pitchers, with Leslie (1-3, 2B) and O'Neill (2-2, HBP) providing key contributions to the Marlins offense. The Bandits were led by Nate Heithaus at the plate (3-4), who reached consistently and caused trouble on the bases. The Bandits received a solid outing from Casey Horjus, who kept them in the game for a sol |
