Shepard struggles early giving up 3 in the first 2, but settles in for a solid 6 innings. The run support came late with 3 in the top of the 7th to give the A's a 4-3 lead. Derek Pizarro led off with a double, and after a Lenane walk and a sacrifice bunt from Braid, MC delivered a game tying double. He later scored the go ahead run after two Saber errors with two outs. Kerin relieved Shepard in the 7th and fell victim to a lead-off error, who would eventually score. But he kept the damage to 1, sending the game to extras, and after Browne singled in Carrera in the top of the 8th, Kerin got 2 K's and a ground out to close the door for the A's Win.
