Palmer Club secures 2 of 3 in week 1. Matt Donato pitched 5 strong innings allowing 2 runs on 4 scattered hits while striking out 5. George Breslin made his first appearance for Palmer and nailed the coffin shut for the final two innings. Palmer was able to tie the game up in the 4th thanks to a Jose Toledano double scoring speedster Jim Perron from 1st and a sac fly from Eric Longley to bring in Toldedano. The game was tight until the 5th inning when Palmer was able to load the bases; Perron walloped a ball off a tree in right center (robbing him of a grand slam)brining in 2 runs for a stand up double. Palmer would tally 6 runs that inning and maintain the momentum until the final out. Alex Venditti was assigned to the DL due to a baserunning mishap leading to a broken collar bone. He's been studying film on how to properly run the bases and we wish him a speedy recovery.
