The Pirates get back into the win column with a big win over the Cambridge Spinners Thursday night in Malden at Pine Banks. A pitcher's duel brewed early and things were even out of the gate. Both teams had chances on offense but the Pirates broke through in the late innings with all of their RBIs coming off the bench. Jory Curran had a key go-ahead RBI walk in the 6th and Todd Elkin had a big 2-run single in the 7th to get some insurance. The Elkin and Shikora battery shared the bounty of the Pirates chest - the Pirates backstop called a great game behind the dish for his pitcher, who went the distance on the mound. The final line for Shikora was 7 innings, 0 ER, 6 Ks, while scattering 3 hits and 4 walks. Unfortunately, he was unable to add to his league lead in hit batsmen. The Pirates are right back at it on Sunday against the Boston Bombers in East Boston at Noyes Field. First pitch is set for 10:00AM
