COTE HITS GRAND SLAM FOR DECISIVE RUNS IN ATHLETICS VICTORY OVER HAVOC With the Athletics down 4-1 in the top of the 7th, Matt Cote blasted a grand slam to deep left-centerfield to put the Athletics up 5-4. Cote had 5 RBIs on the night. Perkins (Havoc) and OKeefe (Athletics) were locked in a pitchers duel, until the Havoc put up 4 runs in the 6th, to go up 4-1 thanks to a well executed double steal and some timely hits with RISP. Perkins would stay in the game for the 7th in the attempt to throw a complete game. The Athletics would load the bases, and after a failed safety squeeze attempt, Cote would deliver the decisive grand slam deep into the Somerville night. Dave Pirman would come in for the 7th to close out the game in an uneventful bottom of the 7th. The victory caps off a 7-3 'first half' for the Athletics in their inaugural 28+ season. The loss drops the Havoc to 6-4 and one game behind first place in the Red Division.
