Spinners got out to a 4 run lead in the 4th inning and held on for an 8-7 victory over Bombers on Wednesday.
Bombers scored 3 runs in the 6th to cut the lead to 1 run. The offensive onslaught was led by O'Hara, Parra, and Dziuba, all driving in runs in the frame.
In the 7th with 2 outs, the Bombers threatened to tie the game. With Hayes on 2nd, O'Hara singles to right field and Knowles throws a strike home, to end the game at the plate.
The bats blistered as Cambridge collected 15 hits and Bombers tallied 13 in the high-scoring game.
Blomerth got his 5th win of the season, while Blum picked up his 1st save of the season.
Spinners bats were led by Joe Perna, who went 3-for-3 at the plate. Johnson, Bailey, De Lara, Knowles, and Salvia each managed multiple hits for the Spinners.
Lightbody, Dziuba, Hayes, McGuire, Parra, and O'Hara each had multiple hits for Boston Bombers. |
