Sun, 1 May, 7:00PM, at Norwood - Balch Field
Bay State Pirates 10, South Shore Spartans 6
In a game that featured seven lead changes, runs scored every inning, and only two 1-2-3 frames, the Pirates finally prevailed in a wild Sunday night affair in Norwood.
Dan Brookfield anchored the offense, finishing a home run short of the cycle. Chris Holland laced a go-ahead double in the decisive 5-run seventh inning and caught a laser line drive to end the game in the bottom half. Nick Packard went 3 for 4 with an RBI and John Burnheimer chipped in two hits with a run scored.
An all-around team win saw Max Billig take home the Pirates Chest with a 4 for 4 night and the web gem of the century, with a little questionable baserunning thrown in for good mix. Mike Smith paced the Spartan's offense in the loss, going 3 for 4 with a double and stolen base.
The Bucs look to extend their early season winning streak in two weeks when they square off against the Giants in Weymouth. |
