The Bombers used the longball to erase a 5-run deficit and earn the comeback victory against the visiting Bay State Pirates by a final score of 9-7 at Noyes Park in East Boston. Jory Curran's 2-run home run off starter Brian Saffelle gave the Pirates a 7-2 lead heading into the bottom half of the 4th inning, but the Bombers responded promptly. Veteran Jonny Hayes launched his first home run as a Bomber to make it 7-4. A 2-run double by Ted Dziuba brought the Bombers within 1, setting the stage for David Lightbody, who put the Bombers ahead for good with a 3-run bomb to LF - his 37th career dinger in a Bombers uniform. Brian Saffelle settled in after some shaky team defense early on to secure his league leading 9th victory on the mound. Anthony Del Prete slammed the door shut with a 6-out save. Bombers improve to 14-2 with their 12th straight victory. Pirates drop to 11-7 but remain in striking distance of first place.
