Ron Viola allowed only three hits in six innings and Mike Vernon earned his second save in as many tries. Viola walked only two while striking out eight in his second win of the season. The big hit came off the bat of Shu Sasaki who drove in two with a single in the second. Dave Kwajewski (2R, RBI) and Rich Newman also drove in a run each.
