The Cubs notched their first win on the season on the strength of Afshin Chaharmahalian's complete game, 3-hitter. The Cubs struck early with a 2-out rally in the first when Brian McCarthy tripled in Mike Wilson. Billy McGee followed with an RBI single. The Titans mounted their biggest challenge in the 6th when a single, walk, and a double steal put the tying runs on 2nd and 3rd with one out, but AC was able to induce an RBI groundout from Lobdell, and struck out Maza to end the inning. The Cubs answered with two runs of their own in the bottom of the 6th with consecutive singles from Billy McGee, Jesse Stanley, and Tyler Armstrong. The final run of the evening scored on Drew Feldman's sac fly. AC wrapped up the victory with a 1-2-3 7th.
