Towne had been held to one hit over the first four innings by Ben Knott until they put the first eight men on base in the fifth and scored nine times on 7 hits. The big hit of the inning was a bases clearing triple by Alex Venditti (his fourth three-bagger of the year) that propelled Towne to a 5-4 lead. Both Vinny Monahan and Harvey Soolman had two hits and two RBIs in the inning with the latter breaking things open a bit lining a two-out, two-run single to make things 8-4. Towne's Dana Dresser added two more hits to a great season and finished at .407. Terrence Walsh picked up the win with Michael Stefaniak smoking over the last two hitless innings to close out the game and the season.
