The Thunder prevailed in a thriller, with a walk-off suicide squeeze play in the bottom of the 9th. The story was Story (Jon Story), who pitched about 3000 pitches, striking out 12 but walking 11, yielding 6 hits. Newton got a strong 7 inning performance from Cam Routh, who also doubled in 3 runs in the 3rd, but the relievers couldn't hold it. North Andover scored twice (Hattan and Bromley) on wild pitches in the 2nd and 7th innings, and Mike Rose doubled in Hattan in the 4th. Trailing 6-4 heading into the bottom of the ninth, the Thunder loaded the bases on consecutive hits by Bromley, Abadi and Smith. Then Brian Chen singled in one run, and Frank Marr attempted to squeeze in Abadi from third. Abadi scored on the balk, then with runners on 2nd and 3rd, Marr dragged a perfect squeeze towards first and Bill Smith scored the winner!
